Driving into Nusa Dua is very open and free compared to Seminyak and its coastal surroundings. The Westin is huge. Traditional Balinese greetings on arrival, and looked after as Starwood Preferred Guests, we had no issues with our stay. Great facilities, amenities, amazing range for complimentary buffet breakfast. We stayed in a spacious suite facing the pool on the top level, east wing. Each Hotel/Resort along Nusa Dua's beach has its own beach access, gazebos and cocoons. Public paths on the beach and bike hire comes in handy for daily activities.
The Balinese salespeople whom approach everyone were being rejected by most guests, but I wanted to know what one of them were selling - boat tours. Although they only operate mornings when the boats can drive in up the coast in high tide.
It came in handy as the following morning we got up early, enjoyed buffet breakfast, booked a gazebo with the hotel (either half/whole day - we chose whole day) then just met the same guy offering boat rides/snorkelling/turtle island/jet-skiing/parasailing... which was a perfect morning, only costing $30pp for turtle island and snorkelling. Returned to our beach by boat to our reserved gazebo to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
There's also a few beachside restaurants to explore at other hotels which are definitely worth a look as well, offering nightly events and BBQs to keep guests busy.
Would definitely recommend.
