“Lovely ...really nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Glad we found this little gem. We really enjoyed our short stay.

In a good upmarket area on a quiet road. What a lovely entrance. You have a good 10-15 min walk to the main street. But about a 5 min walk you have some good bars and restaurants and a lovely cafe/restaurant just down the road.. Be careful! The footpaths are in bad condition and dangerous and especially in the dark.

Reception (from Linda) was charming, warm and friendly. Shown straight to our lovely room. We had a very nice feeling as we walked by the super pool and wonderful gardens to our room.
This was on the ground floor and accessed across a small bridge with fish swimming each side.

The room itself was clean, bright and cosy. The bathroom was a little different...it was open to the skies! Private but open. We liked this.

We ate only "breakfast" and this was a big let down. I look forward to breakfast. But this was merely tea, toast, jam and fruits!. This is not breakfast as we know it...not even a continental one. I had oatmeal and was charged for it. I was surprised at the lack of effort for breakfast...why??? Management need to sort this urgently as the rest of the resort is charming and excellent.

We did enjoy our stay and would stay again for sure...even with the breakfast!!

Room Tip: Beware the public footpaths.

“Couldn't get any better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My wife and I had a business trip in Bali for ~10 days after our honeymoon in Lombok. As any young couple, we would want to stay closed to the main strip in Kuta/Legian/Seminyak without paying too much. On the 1st day, we stayed in Aroma Hotel in Kuta and we couldn't stand the noise, cleanliness, and overall, it was a horrible experience there. I called my dad and referred me to stay in Puri Mesari. These are why I had to give 5 stars:

1. The price: Since I stayed in Bali that long, the hotel agreed to give me discounted price. It's still cheaper than the Aroma hotel and that included with the taxi expenses to the strip.
2. Location: it's quiet and I always had a good night sleep. AC and hot water worked fine!
3. The Friendliness of the staff: Linda at the reception was always have smiles on her face and sharp. Everytime I had an inquiry or questions, they automatically put their effort to find the answers without me asking them to do so. Eventhough I have traveled to so many different countries, stayed in hotels from 3-6 stars, dealt with hotel employees, I have never found a hotel employee as Linda who's friendly and sharp. Two thumbs up for Reindra, the manager, who train Linda. Regarding Reindra, he was always being personal with the guests. I rarely had any experience at those hotels when a manager approached me and knew my first name. That's just a nice touch.

Yes, we'll be back. Thank you Puri Mesari Staff!!

“Disgusting -Chain Smokers everywhere, even in restaurant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

It's been a long time since we left a hotel so quickly. My wife and I arrived very early as we flew at night. The taxi driver was very nice from the airport.
We arrived when it was still dark and tried to sleep for a couple of hours. The room was not cold, despite the air-con which did not work. The shower and bathroom were very ordinary and the place, particularly outside, stank of cigarette smoke.
The only thing nice was the huge King Bed, which was comfortable, but as the room was quite small, filled it up.
We could not eat in the restaurant due to the high number of smokers- SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED WHEN EATING-GET THE MESSAGE!!!!!
Disrespectful from customers- but nothing done by staff either!
We were forced to eat in our ( Hot, stuffy ) rooms.
We were NOT offered a refund either, which was very disappointing.
This is by far the worst experience we have had in Bali- would never come here again, nor recommend it- Can't understand the great reviews- unless they are all chain smokers

Room Tip: Don't bother unless you are a heavy smoker or like stinky places where you can't breathe

“Tranquility & a Stunning Pool Area”

We had a great few days here. Our room had a lovely private coutyard ensuite, and the common pool is stunningly beautiful...the surroundings are just so peaceful...the hotel was full but it seemed actually quiet...we liked this.
A special thanks to the beautiful Linda & Juni at (reception), and Tomang (service), and of course Indra (Ray) for helping us to organise our very short itinerary...it worked really well.
Thanks again

“Charming Balinese retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We had a wonderful time at Puri Mesari. It is a charming hotel with lovely landscaping and a picturesque little pool with frangipani flowers falling into it. The hotel is set a little out of the way but that makes it quiet & an excellent get away from all the hustle & bustle.

Taxis are easily available - the reception can arrange private ones (we recommend Erwin, he is a good guide, friendly & reliable) & public taxis can be flagged just outside the hotel. Bikes are also available for hire; a short ride away are the Sanur beach (to see the sunrise), tourist kiosks, restaurants etc. The Roti Prata joint on the Sanur-Denpasar highway (just as you turn into Sanur) is a good place for a meal.

Simple but adequate continental breakfast, more choice available on request. Room was clean & spacious - no television available but that was fine by us! Open bath area which was different but nothing to complain about -- the high walls ensure complete privacy. The hotel offers free wi-fi from 7am to 11pm (speed is way better in the internet room beside the restaurant).

What stands out about Puri Mesari is the personalized service which we can speak volumes about - special mention for Ms.Linda & Ms.Juni. All other staff were also extremely warm and friendly; always ready to help. They are willing to go the extra mile & never forget your name! Would we go there again? Definitely!
