Our visit started a little rough with a missed airport pick-up, but it was taken care of in a very professional manner by the owner, Barb. Once we began our stay of 6 days however, Pondok Ayu definetely grew on us! Very intimate compound with a clean pool as it's centerpiece and only 5 rooms made it feel like we had our own private villa. Rooms were immaculate and had everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and the communal morning breakfast was always good fun. Only downside was it's somewhat removed location from the beach, but nothing that a $1 taxi ride couldnt overcome. All in all, great little spot to stay for a few days!

This was our second stay at Pondok Ayu. Once again we had a fantastic time. Tjhis place is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful clean rooms, relaxing pool area and such fantastic staff. Gede, Made,Putu, Kadek and Wayan do a marvellous job of looking after you, and Nunga is on hand to take you around Sanur and other places.
I highly reccomend this small boutique hotel for anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to stay away from the crowds and wants something clean, modern and peaceful.

I booked to stay at Pondok Ayu based on it's Tripadvisor ratings, and it lived up to it's no 1 rank. We were lucky enough to stay in the largest of the suites, set slightly apart from the others. Have stayed in lots of hotels around the world and tend to be very critical, but I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the suite. Best hotel bathroom I've ever come across. The gardens and pool are meticulously maintained. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day, with a ready supply of drinking water and fresh linen, as well as fresh flowers.The pool and garden is not large but certainly was big enough to accommodate my family and the other guests without us feeling cramped. Great breakfasts and lunches, with personal requests no problem, although after 10 days the breakfast options had lost their novelty value but this was made up for by the staff remembering all our personal preferences. Breakfast is a social affair, with all the guests at one table. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and chatting. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked a few trips with Geddes to take us to different places, and also made good use of the free local transport around Sanur - although we walked into Sanur many times too, it's only a short walk. Fantastic value for money.

My partner and I stayed here at the beginning of Janurary and could not be happier with the experience we had. The room was fabulous. More an apartment than a room given the size. It was perfect. The staff were friendly and hospitable and accomodated our every need. The locations is approximately 5 mins walk to town, and 10 mins to the beach. And this short distance allows the hotel to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas. So you get a beautiful place to relax whilst being close enough to enjoy the delicious resturants and entertaining nightlife of Sanur. Fabulous! We walked through a number of the larger more flashy resorts in Sanur whilst we were there, and agreed they had nothing on Ponduk Ayu!
