“good value for family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Travel with my 2 children, the room is quite big and clean, they can play around in the room while I can have a good sleep. Not expensive, convinience store are available, swimming pool quiet nice for relax, have a good view to Lembang Mountain, atmosphere is calm although it's located near many shopping centre and restaurants. Food place just 5-10 minutes walk. Breakfast and the Lobby is standard. One of my favourite hotel in Bandung especially travellng with my family. Try experience walk at the evening to Lembang direction and find many food store along there and nice weather.

“good location, clean, so-so value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2011

Booked a 2-bed room suite with 2 bedroom for about USD110/night.

The whole place is cleaned, the furnishings are quite basic but decent: standard beds and cabinets, a small dining table, LCT TV, sofa.

The so-called 'kitchenette' is a big let down. It only consists of a small sink and a counter. no stove, no microwave or any equipment to cook with. They only provided us with an electric kettle, some cups and 3 bottles of mineral water.

Breakfast for 3 was included. I have to say that the spread was pretty good. It served rice, veg, porridge, fruits, cereals, breads, etc.

Location is good. Close to a mini market and some eating places. We walked up the road to get some 'soerabi' (traditional pancake) in the morning.

“Strategic & Good Enough”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2011

My friends and i booked into an Executive Room (not suite) that was quite comfortable and provided the basic necessities like shower, television, air conditioning, hot water, water heater, fridge etc. The selection of channels that they had was amazing, they had almost every channel you can watch. Thus there is always something to entertain you in your room after all that factory outlet shopping.

We walked about 15 minutes downhill to Rumah Mode factory outlet, an ANGKUTAN (local transport) would have costed Rp1500 per person though. But since the weather there was cool and refreshing, a walk seemed like a great idea. We also went there on weekdays so there was very little crowd. Some important tips when coming to Bandung would be to:

1)Arrange for your stay on weekdays
2)Bring an extra luggage if you plan to shop a lot (The shopping here can go crazy with the extremely low prices for branded goods)
3)Do not eat by the roadside stalls because my friends and i had the stomach ache after eating their Baso
4) Airport tax is Rp75000 so put that money aside from the cash for shopping

Bandung is definitely a place i'll come back to because of the cool weather, heavenly shopping experience and delicious Sup Buntut Goreng.

“The Hotel Has Two Faces”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

I booked 3 apartments (with 2 bedrooms each) via www.bandungvaluestay.com through a lady named San San. A day before arrival at Bandung, I was told not to check-in at the Front Office. Instead, there would be someone waiting for me at the lobby to bring us up.

At the hotel lobby, I was told by the front office that these are actually apartments managed by some individuals and not by the hotel itself. This explains the lack of services which would normally be available in a serviced apartment / hotel such as housekeeping, breakfast, internet services, hair-dryer, shower, cap, etc. So, be careful when making reservations.

Although our emails are all promptly reply, there was no proper explaination on where to deposit the keys when checking out. We were told that we are not allowed to deposit the keys at the front office.

Also, all the access cards given cannot be used. This could be due to the fact that these rooms are not owned by the hotel itself and the cards could have been used cards taken from the hotel. These 2 incidents left a bitter taste in my mouth and gets a thumbs down from me.

The apartment itself is too small and there is no ventilation in the living room / kitchen area. We had to switch on the air-conds in the rooms and keep the doors open to cool the living room.

The rooms are clean but as there is no housekeeping services ( have to pay another RpD 30,000 per cleaning), the apartment was dirty after 2 days and full of unthrown litter.

I would give points for the location of the hotel. it is within walking distance to Rumah Mode and other nearby outlets. There is a supermarket on the right-hand side of the hotel (50m away) which sells good local tidbits. On the left-hand side of the hotel (300m away), there is a stall outside Warung Sate (morning only) which sells one of the best chicken porridge that I have ever eaten at only RdD 20,000. This is a must-try ! You can easily find other eateries and restaurants near the hotel for lunches and dinners.
