“Acceptable for the low price”

Heard about the dirty rooms and bed bugs prior to travelling. On checking in, the room was generally clean, except for the stains on the bed cover. There were no bed bugs though. The hotel dinner wasn't good or satisfying, so it's better that you head out to get your own meal. The rooms were poorly lit, but you could ask for an extra lamp, which slightly mitigates the situation. The brightness is acceptable for just watching TV, but not if you're thinking of doing your work in the room.

Location wise, it is a 10-minutes walk from Batam Shopping Centre, and 5 minutes from Top 100 (which really doesn't boast much). It is also near The Spa Secret, where you can get a really cheap and good massage.

The staff is really friendly at Swiss Inn, especially Karbel, who recommended and brought us to The Spa Secret. Very helpful and nice.

“good hotel”

This hotel we visited 3x,2006,2007,2008. In this time was hotel clean,bed clean too.Every we lived 4 weeks there, without some problem.Never we found some bugs!!!!
Personal is very dear,their english language is perfectly,they are reliably,dear.Service was perfectly, 24 hours non stop.Food was good and sufficiency, very often we was serviced after their working hours,if kitchen was glosed(during night).
This hotel is for us like own home.If we in next time visit to Batam, only in this hotel we will be accommodate. We are very satisfied.
Of course we will be pleasure, if all hotel and his rooms will be improvemented.
We greet all personal including the manager of this hotel Swiss in Batam/, late name is Island Garden.
A lot of success to future and see You later.

“Horrible Stay”

My experience at this hotel was absolutely horrible. The first night I had to check out of my room at 4 am because I was itching all night from bed bugs. Dirty Sheet, Dirty Bed cover, dirty room. Food was nasty and they didn't have baked potatoes. Asked for an iron/board and they sent me an old iron with a frayed cord and ironing board was dirty and torn with cushion hanging out. Next room I went to also had bed bugs so I itched the entire 3 days I was there. No swimming pool available which is advertised on their website. Clerk did not want to provide me with a close-out bill receipt, but I demanded to have one and they finally wrote a receipt. Do Not Stay at this Hotel. Website is VERY MISLEADING. My friends and I had to be treated by our Dr for bed bug bites.

“Bed bugs, late check in, early check out”

My experience in this hotel was horrible. We came here through a StreetDeal.com.sg coupon. Arrived at the hotel at 12 noon, the hotel personnel say there are no non-smoking rooms available, ask us to wait till 3pm then have available room. No, in the end waited till 3.30pm then get the room card. Remember to have SGD 50 as a deposit to the mini-bar or else they will keep your passport as deposit. Before check in, went to their cafe for lunch. Lunch was spicy sambal rice with tiny piece of fried chicken. Rice was spicy, we ask for plain water. They say they don't serve plain water and ask us to buy expensive fruit juice/soft drinks that cost around $4 sgd and above. The free dinner was plain skinny fish with tomato sauce and rice. Both meals end with the same watermelon and honeydew fruits. The only good thing is that the hotel is near some malls like BCS and Top 100, so you don't have to take taxi to get to these places. I think the breakfast served was the most decent among the rest of the meals I had there.

I also suffered bed bugs the next morning. They should clean the bed sheets more thoroughly, I see stains of yellow and red dots around the bed sheet! I have 4 bites on my body and had to see a doctor to stop the itch. Also, the toiletries provided only have 1 set. Hello? There are 2 people staying in that room! Why only 1 set? And our room is facing the main road, super noisy with traffic sounds all through the night. I am sure you don't need the alarm to wake you up to know that it is morning.

The steep slope that leads out from the hotel was super dangerous. I fell down twice when the road is slippery due to the rain. Only later did I realise that they actually have a staircase to walk out from the hotel entrance. Please put some sign to the staircase because it is hardly visible!

The check out process was bad also, they check us in late, and expect us to check out at 1pm latest (we actually ask for extended check out but the latest they gave was 1pm), even though our ferry is departing at 5pm.

My advice to you is do not stay at this hotel. If you insist, stay at your own risk!

Room Tip: Get a room that is not facing the main road! Don't go to the hotel's spa to do massage or sp...

However, we will consider your comment for our improvement of meal arrangement for the package. And other good comment regarding hotel location, indeed we often received a positive comments from our guest that our hotel is located in the central of business district.

“Good service, better than expected stay”

Went on the 11/11 using the deal coupons and stayed for a day. Traveling with total of 6 people. So I asked the hotel to pick us up at the ferry terminal ($2 per person). Around 10 mins journey to the hotel. It is located in city area. Upon reaching, some of us went for massage $5 and Scrub package approx $20 = $25 in total. Kind of better than expected environment, massage was good.

Lunch we all top up $6 for buffet each, food wise not bad, quality is nice, not much variety. We got relatively new rooms on 4th floor, which is clean and comfortable. First thing to check the bedsheets, one room was Abit stained so asked them to change. After that all was good. Let the air con run. Road facing, so at night the traffic is kinda noisy.

Travelled to batam city square and Nagoya, taxi fare is around Rp 40k to 50k, pls haggle. ESP BCS as it is very near and many things to do (arcade, cheap and good cinemas!) both supermarkets etc...

We also had the manager drive us to collect our ferry tickets and he waited for us, and also drove us to the ferry terminal on our return. Very friendly and attentive service from the front line staff. My family was pleased. $2 per person per trip too using hotel mpv.

Overall good experience, will consider here again.
