Was upgraded from Amir boutique hotel to Golden view hotel, batam for 2 days 1 night in celebration of the new year 2012 countdown.
Heard that Golden view was pretty popular due to its location and actually the room was quite spacious and comfy.

I had a few unpleasant experiences with the hotel and it will be my last visit. The more preferred hotels are Novotel, Harris or Holiday inn.

1) Bed sheets were old and uncomfortable(rough), as though they had been washed many times. Requested the guy to change a new set and he was very helpful and fast even though there were some brown colored stained on the bedsheet after he changed. I was puzzled, why didnt he notice it when he was changing the bedsheet. haha. I didnt want to pursue as it would meant an extra trip for him.
2) Food quality via room service was bad. The chicken wings, nasi goreng kampong and chicken cutlet that we had ordered were cold. The rice was hard and dry; chicken satay doesn’t taste like chicken; chicken wings were bloody and not fully cooked in the inside. Totally disappointing as we thought we could have a good dinner before the countdown.
3) The towels had a weird smell and looks old. I have requested a new set but it smelt the same.
4) The breakfast spread was miserable. With tasteless noodles, lontong and porridge and a few more side dishes. The table was cleared but without any utensils for the new diners. Nobody attended to me and I need to request for it.
Last but not least, I had a shock of my life when I went to the gym the next morning. I saw the lady, who is a staff in charge of the gym, performing an inappropriate gesture that is very disturbing.
2 out of 4 treadmills were out of order. The equipment were old and not maintained. The lady in charge had the television on at full blast, which disallow me to listen to my music in peace.

Despite all the above, I had a great time with the fireworks at Golden view.. Bought the fireworks from this guy at the hotel lobby who was pretty friendly and gave us nice discounts.

My kids are looking forward to stay in this hotel cos of the facilities and the adventure park and its not that far from Nagoya. I would be coming back soon with more nephews and nieces to have more fun.

I gave one star only because this website does not allow me to give zero or minus. Please avoid this horrible place. Room is extremely big but - with smell-like-s-h-i-t carpet, I believe no human being can endure it more than one minute. We requested to change room but found out other rooms are no better. Worse thing is their "go cart" and "golden beach". Please, do even get me start, but funny thing is, they provide shuttle "bus" to those crappy places that are only 5 minute walk away. Of so many places i have ever been to, quite honestly, i would give the trophy of worst hotel to it.

This hotel is definitely hunted! Was sleeping in the middle of the night when noise from the wall of people scratching is damn creepy. Hotel worker and the massager ask us personally to give them tips and so on. When giving them tips, they force us to give more tips. Terrible!
