Was here for 5d4n in September 2011 and was with a bunch of friends. Resort is huge, all facilities were well maintained but beach was just so-so. yes there were monkeys but they were harmless. My fav was the night entertainment. It was soooo entertaining. Kudos to the choreographer. Had the chance to try the infamous "white Chocolate bread" too which I love. They served lobster for dinner too on one of the nights that we were there. Nevertheless somehow the GOs weren't really friendly to us - I don't know why. Having just came back from Club Med Kani few months before I went to Bintan, I must say that I loved the GOs at Kani more.

We were at the resort during february for 3 nights with my wife and 2 boys. Having been to many all inclusive resorts in europe and in carribean / cancun area we had quite a bit to compare this resort to.
Few observations:
The hotel itself is looking very dated, old, dirty. The restrooms by the pool/ main bar area was probably the worst ive seen in a hotel..
The rooms were old looking with markings on the wall. It feels like we are in camp...
Food is very very bad. He only option is buffet. They had another restaurant with partial alacart option that was open only one night during our stay. Again really bad food.
Gos are the folks who work at the hotel. They join you for lunch dinner, breakfast. Imagine trying to hold conversation while feeding two kids and getting food from the buffet that is far from the table. Not a vacation experience.

the whole vibe of the place is like a summer camp. Might be great for older children, but was nothing for our baby and toddler todo.
I wish we had known about the condition of hotel, terrible food ahead of time. It might be a good hotel if you've only been to hotels in its area. But when compared to hotels in mediteranean or carribean this place feels like a very expensive summer camp.

Just came back from our escapades from the hustle and bustle of Singapore. It was soooooo relaxing! All of the GOs there are so friendly, so accomodating and so lively!

Big thanks to Sam, the restaurant manager who put up with our many food/table related requests. Always accommodating and helpful.

The nice things about this place are:
1. nice, friendly GOs (big thumbs up for all Indonesian GOs! especially those in Mini/Petite Clubmed);
2. everything is taken care of (food, drink, entertainments, anything you can think of!) - my husband went to the night shows and was thoroughly impressed with the performances by the GOs (especially Michael Jackson night!). Swimming pools for children has slides, balls and sand castle buckets that we could borrow from the Petite Clubmed GOs.
3. pristine, clean, white sand beach!
4. Seaview room with balcony! (can hear wave crashing everyday for 5 days!)
5. Nice Indonesian food!! yumm... (Love the Soto Medan)
6. Pasta is available for both lunch and dinner, everyday! (a big plus in my 2 years old son's book).

One thing that was highlighted by other parents who went to ClubMed Bintan was how food timing was off for younger children. I have a toddler that has strange meal times (10am for lunch and 4pm for dinner), but with planning and the fact that food is always available from 6.30am to 5.30pm and 7pm to (can't remember), it was not a problem for us. The only time food/snack is not available is from 5.30pm -7pm...

The only negative thing that I could think of was that the rooms are looking a little bit tired. The doors to the balcony are a bit rusty but I guess that's expected since it's by the beach (high salinity and humidity). Parts of the ceiling in our room was a little bit discoloured too (from the aircondition), but hey these are just external things! The room was otherwise clean and comfortable!!

Will definitely go back!

If you live in a room at first floor, you may have a chance to encounter monkeys, they are beautiul and friendly to human. Feeding them is not necessary but you can.
Besides G.O there are sincerely kind to visitors. It is also a good choice for a family to stay with your children, walking together by the beach is a must in a day.
