the staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. we stayed there for 4 nights in january in the beach front villa which had a great view from the balcony. the resort is on an island which has very friendly people... if you wanna look around instead of enjoying the tranquility.. ao nang is quite far, involved a 20 min tuk tuk ride then a 2 min boat crossing and then a 30 min drive. if you're short on time or dont want to stay away for long, i'd suggest getting to koh klang pier and then walking to your right towards town. there was a fruit/hawker market in the evening which had quite a lot to offer. banks atms etc too. Penpit/other helpful lady will make all the arrangements for you if you want to take the 4island tour or the phiphi trip etc. expect to pay a premium. alternatively you could book it yourself in town. speedboats sometimes take too many people on board. overall a splendid stay. i'd recommend it to couples who'd like to getaway from it all.

Room Tip: ocean facing .. there were 6 i think .. dont go for the one next to the pool

“small is beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

Life at islanda is indeed my soul sesrching time. away from busy life, i really enjoy the multicolor of the sky during sunset from the room spacious balcony.

The horizontal pool is another amazing spot to relax. I have spent my whole afternoon reading books drinking champagn.

There are a lot of activities to do on the island, biking through the village, islanding tour, kayaking or even play pool near the bar. Especially, the cocktails there are fantastic. Just ask for Mr.Big and enjoy his cocktails. Cheers!

“romantic gem”

This is what Thailand should be about. Islanda is a place of genuine calm and quality. It is an antidote to the crowded red-skinned hordes of popular beach resorts. We loved Koh Klang, which is the only resort on a wildlife filled island populated by fishermen and rice farmers. It's a romantic Tuk Tuk ride (they arrange this) to the resort which welcomes you with a drink and cold flannel when you arrive.

The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff wonderful. They make you want to relax in their silk gowns, but we found many things to do. There are bikes and tuk tuks to explore the island or they can organise a long-tailed boat. It's a photographer's paradise. Many people (including Thai and other Asian guests) were staying longer than our 6 nights.

It's not a swimming beach, but at Islanda it is easy to take a boat to any of the popular (or less popular) beaches. The mud-flats at low tide were beautiful and a haven for wildlife and in my view were far better and more romantic than sterile sand. And the pool is large and inviting you need a dip. Anyway, arriving at a swimming beech by boat is the best way to do it and our skipper (Captain Bow) brought bread so we had far better snorkling than the hordes.

Importantly, the food was wonderful, with as much as possible using home grown and local ingredients. And there was infinite fresh coffee for breakfast if you asked for it.

we've just returned home from islanda village and have to say it really is a very very special place. we could really not find fault if we tried. the location is perfect for getting away from it all, the rooms are beautiful and very clean, the food and service are excellent and it would be impossible to find nicer and more helpfull staff anywhere. we had 2 island hopping days which the staff organised for us which we're fabulous.but because the placce with its huge infinity pool is so relaxing its quite difficult to tear yourself away.the bar manager bic makes the best cocktails and even cut fresh cocunuts from the trees to serve us by the pool and always with a huge smile! we can't wait to return .

Room Tip: we stayed in 2 different rooms as we had only planned to stay 3 days but did'nt wan't to lea...

“Relaxing vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Islanda is an Oasis,
Hidden amongst a long lost world of quiet fields & small traditional houses
On your way to the resort you will be greeted by the occasional water buffalo or by charming goats grazing along the road.
Islanda is run by a very young team, of ambitious local owners.
The bungalows are modern, very large & comfortable with a convenient deck looking out towards the ocean, their design is contemporary & clean .
The resort has a very large infinity pool where you can litterally spend days relaxing.
Next to the bar/lounge is a TV area where kids love to spend time in a cozy atmosphere.
Families will enjoy the large facilities & the secluded feeling, which garantees safety for the children.
The sunset is the best time, although you tend to be challenged by mosquitoes during the rainy season.
Overall a very good quiet & secluded experience for those who want to stay away from noisy bars & wish to take a break from busy shopping streets.

Dear Chirst,

Thank you for your review and for choosing to spend your vacation at Islanda Eco Village Resort. You put smiles on our faces here when reading your review.

We are glad you enjoyed the village ride as we intended for guests to experience how they live a simple life here on Koh Klang.

Even though burning lemon glass (the traditional way) to keep the mosquitoes away is not always work for the best, the art of timing of when to smoke it is very tricky. We have to do it just right before it gets dark not a minute late - our staff has now filled up all the water jars daily and remove unnecessary furniture in room that may have been nest for mosquitoes (as you suggested).

Guarantee the best Andaman Sunset in Krabi, but with less mosquitoes for you next visit.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and friends back to Islanda Eco Village Resort again in the near future.

Yours sincerely,
