“Surprised by the size!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2012

After a gap of 3 years,we went back expecting as good or better. The new refurbished rooms (we had 275) were excellent and the bed and linen most comfortable, the view also considerably enhanced over large expanses of lawns and beautifully trimmed hedges with the sea in the distance Also worth viewing was a large 50m. Lily Pond with scarlet flowers in the morning and evening.BETTER
Another pool has been added and the area is most attractive with lawns to the sea and a mass of mature trees to give needed shade(Casuarina mostly)BETTER
Poolside beds are covered with very thin mattresses, and you are uncomfortable after little over an hour.NOT GOOD

Poolside eating had a very small and unimaginative menu; the gaspacho was the best item,
other choices were just plain boring. Drinks VERY expensive. NOT GOOD,
and while we were there a very large party of Italian Business Men were having a conference and spoiled the clean air with cigar smoke through the whole of our second afternoon. Two even smoked IN the pool! we should have been warned and we would have booked other dates. NOT GOOD
We agree with previous poster about Malati Curry, it was definately the worst "Indian" food ever although the poppadums were O.K.
Geckos was average but we had a nice meal at The Mangosteen, where the buffet breakfast also resides; bread very good, croissants below 5 star, fruit selection poor,no mango,no mangosteen,no passion fruit, and the Clementines were dry and past their sell by date.but the juice was sweet .
Nice touch is the Honey comb and the honey is delicious.
On previous visits there was an excellent nightly buffet, and food quality was superb.but now
NOT SO GOOD overall.
One item I left to last, another poster has mentioned it. No WIFI in rooms and exorbitant charge for internet alternative.WE travel extensively in Europe and for the last year have always found FREE WIFI even in small Logis in France.
There is no excuse for this Mr Sheraton
Would we go back? Yes,it was a relaxing break and the weather was perfect, but a few improvements would also make the hotel perfect.

Hello 'speedjspeed',

Thank you for returning to the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort - I am glad to hear that the majority of your stay with us was satisfactory and that you would return for another visit to us. We appreciate all feedback we can get because it allows us to further improve our service and resort. Please allow me to address a few of your concerns.

We have noted your comments regarding your dining experience and I would like to inform you that we have shared your feedback with the culinary team in order to give that area immediate attention. In general, our menus are up-dated on a regular basis and your comments will be taken into consideration the next time we revise it. While there is a cost for internet in the room, WiFi is available free of charge in our lobby, Martinis Bar and at the Link@Sheraton. Thank you also for your comments regarding our sun loungers – we will for sure look into softer mattresses when we replace the current ones.

Please accept my sincere apology that we have not been able to meet your expectations in all areas. At the same time, I am pleased to read that you have enjoyed our two pools, the lawn and our lily pond. We are looking forward to welcome you back!

“Superb Resort with not too many tourists”

We stayed one week in the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. This was our first trip to Thailand. The staff at the Hotel and the surrounding have been very friendly. This impression has been confirmed then the next week we stayed in Bangkok and the people very slightly less friendly. The pools of the Hotel are both quite big and nice to relax and swim. The breakfast is very big and we discovered new things to eat every morning. We liked that there where not to many tourist around the Hotel not like Phuket. So a very nice place to take vacations and chill and discover the beautiful surroundings.

Hello 'kristinaili',

Thank you for this short and sweet review! By the way, we have good news for all ice-cream lovers: We have just opened our new ‘ice-cream and sandwich parlor’ at Malati Pool. While there are a few shops just outside the Sheraton, it takes around 20 minutes to Ao Nang and approximately 30 minutes to Krabi town. We also offer a shuttle bus service to Ao Nang and Krabi for guests who wish to leave the relaxing atmosphere of the Sheraton.

Thank you again for your visit and review - we hope we have the chance to welcome you back.

“Great beach hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We spent five nights here in February and just wanted to chill at the end of our holday in Thailand.

The hotel was a great option for this. It is a very spacious and attractive resort with two beautiful pools and overlooks the beach. We had booked a club room but took the option to upgrade to a suite. Whilst this made it a fairly expensive chilling option the suite was really lovely especially with flowers strewn all over the bed! The club lounge was also lovely with an outdoor terrace and good service.

At the top of the drive to the hotel there are a few shops, cafes and restaurants. They cover pretty much everything you could need and all the restaurants we tried were good and very reasonable. The hotel has a shuttle bus service - we only used it as far as Ao Nang which was fun for a change of scene and a few hours of hustle bustle again.

In between chilling we did a private longtail boat trip to Hong and other islands (booked with Andaman camp and day cruise) which was superb - this really is a stunning part of the world and the Sheraton is a great base.

Hello 'Crellins',

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and of course, we are very happy to know you had a great stay with. Good to hear that you enjoyed your Suite and our new Sheraton Club with comfortable air-conditioned in-door seating for the hot days as well as a charming outdoor terrace. And we all agree: Krabi is a beautiful part of Thailand (and the world!) and the Sheraton is definitely a great base to explore the area.

Thank you again for your kind words and I hope it won’t be too long before we can welcome you back.

“Beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We spent a week at the Sheraton Resort Krabi during a recent holiday in Thailand. Initial impressions were very good as the Reception/Foyer is airy and super-clean. After checking in we were shown to our room which was also spotless, and had which was quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. We visited a number of other hotels in the Krabi/Ao Nang area picking up other clients for a trip we had booked - including the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay - and the Sheraton has by far the best location, directly on a quiet beach with extensive and very well-maintained gardens. All the staff were courteous and friendly, and keen to give any assistance they could. The food in the hotel varies - breakfast is pretty standard choices but good and fresh, Mangosteens in the evening serves good upmarket Thai (and international dishes which we didn't try), the Malahti indian restaurant was a disappointment (excellent starters followed by the most average mains I have ever eaten in any Indian restaurant anywhere). Most of the time we ate at the Ruean Siam Thai restaurant on the beach next door to the hotel, which had a great selection of good Thai dishes and considerably cheaper (as you would expect). Drinks at the hotel are reasonable value for a 4* hotel, and half-price during several happy hours - the Martini's bar serves a particularly good Caipirinha!

Room Tip: Premium sea-view rooms seem to be closer to the main complex.
