We run away from the hell of Pattaya to the quiet province of Crabi for a week and never regretted it. We chose this hotel basing on TripAdvisor rating and our budget.
We were picked up at the airport by the hotel car and in some 30 minutes arrived to Amari Vogue.
We got our room on the fourth floor with a superb sea view. It was one of the cheapest rooms in this boutique hotel but it was still very decent.
We were welcomed by hotel manager who apperantly speaks all the all major languages (I spoke to him in English and French and heard him speaking Italian, Spanish and German equally natural).
Small and narrow territory of the hotel is compensated by the wide beach that adjoins the next-door boutique hotel's beach from one side and wild beach over a small stream from the other.
There are several swimming pools and open-air bathtubs - all with a superb view and cosy lounges.
Breakfast was nourishing and coffee was good. We had lunch either in the Italian beachfront restaurant Bellini (usually we ordered pizza or sandwiches) or in the Asian restaurant (the one where breakfast is served in the morning). For dinner it Bellini is a must as it offers spectacular view, nice food and a performance - every night a local band entertains guests with songs sung by a Thai lady singer accompanied by two guitars. It was not super professional but it was natural and nice.
There is spa offering Thai massage, of course, and a range of other treatments, but my wife didn't want to go there and I visited only twice for a whole body massage that was quite relaxing but not more.
Hotel offers regular free shuttles to the nearest city (I don't remember it's name). We took it only once when it was rainy and cloudy but found nothing of interesting there.
The true gem of the Crabi coast is the option to sail to one of the nearest islands by a long-tail boat that will take you back in the afternoon or whenever you want.
We went to the Koh Hong isle and then boatman took us around several other islands a showed a astonishing lagoon at the other side of Koh Hong.
Though the beaches on those islands are not deserted as many tourists come there to escape from their hotels, it is worth a try.
The service was impeccable, room was clean, food was good, there was a choice of wines.
