It has been three years since we last stayed at La Flora and it is still as good - if not better - than our first stay.

The resort is literally right on the beach; just three metres from the door to the sand. The facilities at La Flora are first rate as is the service. Two pools, lots of sun lounges, plenty of towels and the nicest staff to tend to your needs.

Even though the room rates are not cheap there are some nice inclusions: free in-room wi-fi, free minibar (beer and soft drinks), lots of bottled water, fresh fruit and cheap laundry. And the beds are really comfortable!

The buffet breakfast, taken under the frangipani trees beside the pool, is excellent. Eggs cooked to order, tropical fruit, asian and western "mains", all served with a smile.

La Flora is a real treat. It is a well-positioned haven amidst the pandemonium of Patong.

Just arrived back to Australia from spending 7 nights in La Flora. This review focuses on the pros and cons of the hotel not the pros and cons of staying in Patong.

Pros.

1) One of the best locations in Patong. Beach on doorstep, access to good restauarants, washing can be done by dropping off to vendors across the street for 50 baht per kilo.

2) Complimentary minibar...albeit drinks a very cheap.

3) friendly staff

4) room service meals very reasonably priced.

5) good latte for breakfast and freshly squeeze juice of your choice.

6) easy access to beach. Be prepared to pay 100 baht per person for a chair.

7) Pool rooms are great.

8) entertainment in room great has LCD tv with movies, DVD etc at no cost.

9) 24 hour security.

10) Beach towels provided.


Cons.

1) stupid fireworks on the beach all night...something has to be done to ban people from doing this. One night they were going till 4am.

2) pool rooms. Be mindfully not to have the first two rooms near reception. They are not direct access to the pool. People in reception and the road will see you. You will see what I mean just ensure you ask for a room near the beach end.

3) breakfast is ok but not as big variety as you would get from a larger chain. This is a minor point as the good quality fruit juice and coffee make up for it.

Other than that al very good.

Aside from that there is a mcdonalds and starbucks on either side of the hotel.

La Flora is a lovely modern boutique hotel right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Patong. It's right on the beach and next to the crazy Hollywood discotheque which had us entertained. Their hostess, a pretty Bulgarian who has an infitinite source of energy, kept the parties going every night!

The service is good and the staff are extremely polite and helpful. The food isn't the greatest but I wouldn't complain or send anything back. The breakfast was an experience with great cappucinos! There is a spa onsite which we didn't try so unfortunately I cannot offer any reviews. The Surfsace bar on top of the hotel offers amazing seaviews.

The hotel is conveniently located within reach of a number of restaurants and bars. Shopping can be done without to much hassle, and there are places to change money everywhere. For the less adventurous eaters there is a McDonalds and Starbucks next door. Feeling stressed, just walk across the road for an authentic Thai massage...all in all a great little hotel, well priced and convenient!

If you are in the mood for a quiet holiday this isn't the hotel for you, however if the famous 'buzz' of phuket is what your after, La Flora has it!

La Flora its really nice boutique hotel. I booked the front beach room, which did have a nice private pool. The room is nice, clean and bed are very comfortable, also the room have a terrace with connect main pool.
The hotel is great because you have access direct to the beach. The food was very good and the staff very friendly and smile face.
