we stayed there on mid Feb and got room at 1st floor (no balcony). that's not a problem for us. but this room has no window at all. if you don't have problem with this, then it's fine. the staff is really helpful. once we got there and don't know how to activate the blackberry service using thai's sim card, when we ask the receptionist, she did help us regarding this.

1 thing that surprise us, they put 2 extra bed inside our bedroom. the first night we arrive, they pull out 1 extra bed (maybe cause of other room request extra bed). then on the third day, when we are having rest at the hotel on afternoon, suddenly the maid knocked our room and ask to put back the extra bed. because it feel annoying, then i request to change to another room and they had change our room in the next morning. so, problem solved.

the other experience, in the morning we left our room card/key to the reception, and when we got back to hotel around 3/4 PM to take shower, our room has not been cleaned yet. after taking shower, without knocking, the maid open our room and we were surprised by this incident. but the maid did say sorry and i ask her to get back in 15 minutes since we were preparing to go out to shop. and when i left the key to reception and ask him to make up room, the receptionist told me that the maid shift end at 5 PM and if we want the room to be made up, we should left before that time... what kind of attitude is that? but i don't want to argue with him about this since we were on holiday. the other staffs were really helpful with any of our question.

tips: avoid room 101B since they put extra bed in the room...

I came to this hotel from the overwhelming great reviews and Im so glad I did as this place really did live up to the reputation. Big rooms and very clean and fresh daily. I loved the big laptop sake in my room as my wife and I always stored our valuable iPad in them. The staff speak good english and assist us with all the tours in Phuket. The hotel in only short distance to all the great shopping and Bazzares Patong has on offer. The night life strip was was only minutes away and the beach a nice 10 minute walk. I loved Phi Phi Island Tour and James Bond Daily Tour what a great cultural experience and to come back to my room fresh daily was a dream fir the price I paid. I had breakfast a few times but I was told that their breakfast menu is limited as they don't have a chef yet and have temporarily employed someone part time to assist. The coffee although was one of the nicest Ive had and great value as well. My room had a balcony and 1 night the hotel opposite had some noise from 2 of their clients fighting with the thai woman but it was resolved fast and then i went to bed. I would have loved to hire their new bikes but the hectic driving in phuket scared me but i hope i can come again as I think ridding this bike on the island would be heaven but scary. Go to Banzan Markets after 6 and get the choice of excellent foods on offer and its so so cheap only 1 US dollar for the average dish and its delicious and all of this is only a few minutes walk from FUNFEE, Thank you FUNDEE for making our stay so pleasant and so magical and I hope we can come back gain

Stayed for 4 night in early Feb. and had a great time. The best feature about this hotel is the staff. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The location is great, close to restaurants, the beach, and of course Bangla Road. The WIFI worked great and they have free computers to use in the lobby. I really liked that the hotel rented scooters there. As a scooter novice, they really helped me learn the basics. As well as telling me about smaller off the beaten path beaches to visit.
Only negatives where that my room was in the back of the hotel with a view of another hotel being renovated and the overall room quality was more reflective of a 3* room (204A). It was a little noisy also.
I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived on the 15th January and stayed at Fundee Boutique hotel for 5 days. We booked this hotel based on the reviews from tripadvisor and it met our trip needs. We agoda.com for booking this hotel. We required a hotel that was central to patong. It was walking distance to Jungceylon shopping center, patong beach( 10-15 min scenic walk), street markets and Bangela road. However don’t expect a view from your bedroom but considering we only slept in the room we didn’t require a view. The balcony is really small , just more for smoking. The hotel is really close to the other hotels on that street, you could jump from out balcony to the next. When you open the windo it is litterly right next to you. There was some construction that is occurring in the next building but this did not effect us much.

Pros
Check in was quick and efficient
Room and bathroom was always clean
Staff are generally friendly with smiles
Free internet access, which was great
The room was VERY spacious and plenty of space for your luggage
There is a 7/11 market that is a few streets away from Fundee
Honest cleaning staff, We left our camera behind in the room and still found it there even after the room was cleaned, which i though was brilliant. When i confront the cleaning staff about it , they were so scared when i asked who clean my room but were very suprised when i rewarded that person for being honest enough and not taking my camera.

Cons
As we arrived the staff who stood at the reception area didn’t help with our luggage or offer any assistance to carry them to our room especially my wifes.
The shower area is not separated by a door or shower curtain so the floor , bin and toilet area becomes a bit wet when u are having a shower.
The hot water is more like luke warm, you need to figure out the water flow which effects the
water temperature
You have to put your toilet paper into a bin and not down the toilet. This was about the worst part of the hotel. It really does take some getting used to.
Required to pay to use the towels for the beach.

Overall
A clean spacious room with a clean bathroom is all I required and Fundee more than adequately satisfied this requirement. For the amount we paid it was value for money

Tip: Book the tours from island safari that the hotel recommends, its much cheaper than what we paid when we booked elsewhere. Also when you book these tours make sure you write down what activities are included.

Shopping : We went in Jan which is peak season , so get ready to get riped off. The shop owners are able to pick up where you from and pitch their prices accordingly. Be very careful on the quality of items you buy. Make sure for example that Golf shirts are the same lenght or dont have marks on them. Try out the stuff before you buy as their sizes are different to most. Bangkok was far cheaper than Phuket. These are some of the items we got in Bangkok to help give you a ball park range of prices to expect to pay : montblonc pen :150 bhatt, F1 jacket 750 bhatt, manchester united jacket 700 bhatt, nike short pants 150 bhatt, jimmy choo bags for 500 bhatt (these were the prices we paid in bangkok as phuket was really twice as much) . We found the phuket town weekend market to be really much more reasonable and more willing to bargin. Patong is more touristy , so shop owners are less likey to bargin. We stayed at on8 in bangkok, which was the best experience every. We also stayed at Cape panwa hotel in phuket which was our worst experenice. Check out my review of that hotel
