My wife and I found the hotel to be ideally located as we could explore the more bustling side of Patong especially Bangla Rd at night without having to walk too far. It was far enough though to be away from all the noise at night. The staff were great and very helpful. They arranged some excelent excursions for us. Breakfast was lovely. Overall we really enjoyed our stay with the hotel becoming like a home away from home by the second day.

Room tip: Choose a room on the upper levels. Great view.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite. It was very spacious. Decor a little tired but still very comfy.my inly complaint would be that the balconies need cleaning as they were quite dirty and not pleasant to use. Staff friendly and brekfast offered a reasonable variety. Would stay again

Me, my husband and two teenage daughters stayed for 9 sunny days and eight nights recently (22-30 Sept 2014) in a 2 bedroom family suite (room 601-602).
Accommodation
Was spacious and the two bedrooms and two bathrooms suited our requirements really well. We found the suite to be clean and well serviced. The balconies from both the lounge area and the main bedroom gave uninterrupted views to Patong Beach and access to the most stunning sunsets we have seen anywhere in the world. The free internet worked well for most of the stay. However, we did experience some problems in the last day or so...not a problem for me but a disaster for the teenagers! The beds were extrememly firm and I was concerned about sleep quality, but funnily enough I had some of the most restful sleeps I've had in a while. This was also due, in part, to the low level of noise experienced being right at the end of the corridor and the hotel not being fully occupied due to the low season. There were fireworks going off at night regularly but weren't a problem when we went to bed (normally around 11pm). The airconditioning worked well and was a welcome relief when we returned to the suite. We also appreciated having two safes to store our valuables.
Staff
The staff were very accommodating and friendly (we did deal with one person we thought could improve on their friendliness), and checked in with us regularly regarding our satisfaction. There were some challenges and slight frustrations at times in relaying our requirements due to some staff having a low level of English language understanding...but I guess you have to expect this when you are in a foreign country. All maintenance issues (the sliding door to the balcony wouldn't lock) and requests for assistance were attended to immediately and to our satisfaction.
Food & Drink
Breakfast was included with our room and I have to say this was the best meal of the day for us all, we enjoyed it immensely. It actually matched many hotel breakfasts we've had in Europe. I have noted some negative reviews in relation to the food provided, but I'm not sure what more could be offered to make people happy. We had dinner one evening by the pool, had drinks and nibblies by the pool and ordered room service on three occasions and were happy with both the quality and pricing. Happy hour with the drinks was also a favourite!
Accessibility & Surroundings
There is a short cut to Patong Beach through the hotel car park that we took advantage of which takes you 5 minutes. However, the constant pestering by hawkers saw us only go to the beach on one occasion, preferring to spend our time relaxing by the hotel pool uninterrupted. We found the pool and surrounding area to be well maintained, clean and pleasant. It is a decent walk to Bangla Road (10-15 minutes) which wouldn't be a problem if you didn't have to say "no thank-you" at least 50 times to hawkers along the street. Beware of super friendly scammers on scooters who pull up on the road side asking if you're "Aussies" with English and Irish accents. They will hand your children scratchies and then amazingly you win a free stay at a resort they are promoting and must immediately hop into a free taxi to go and listen to a "90 minutes sales presentation" about the resort. We of course didn't hop into a taxi and then they weren't so friendly! The hotel is able to provide you with a driver for a reasonable charge if you wish to make your way to any of the attractions. We used this facility to go to Tiger Kingdom. However, most of the trips/attractions provide free mini bus transfers with their tickets. We also used a private driver for some other attractions (Karon Viewpoint, Chalong Temple).
Summary
Overall I have to say that Andaman Beach Suites Hotel made our first trip to Thailand a memorable and enjoyable one. I would highly recommend it if you want to stay just outside of the madness of Patong Beach and Bangla Road. I haven't given an excellent rating only due to the decor being a little tired but it did not detract from our stay.

We booked direct with the hotel, using their 'Ultimate Luxury Package' which gave us airport transfers, some meals, and massage etc (not sure if this is available in the peak seasons) and upgraded to the Super Deluxe Sea View Room, our emails were answered promptly and gave all the info we asked for.
We arrived later in the night and the front desk clerk had our paperwork ready for us, gave us our vouchers etc and room number "enjoy your stay" . He forgot to tell us how to get to our room, where the breakfast room was or any other details about the hotel, so our first impression was not that good. When we got to our room on level 14 we could not have been happier it was beautiful and the view amazing even in the middle of the night.
The breakfast was a reasonably standard breakfast for a hotel this size, but it is the first time I have asked an egg cook for a hard fried egg and got exactly what I wanted straight up, then each morning as I went to her station she remembered what I wanted, great service. We also had some meals at the hotel and they were good.
Our room was exactly as seen on their website and even had a microwave and sink, could not have asked for more. Our housemaid was very friendly and efficient, even washed my coffee cup (I always take my own) each morning.
On the first morning we had terrible storm and water leaked on through door and window, I mopped it up with our towels and called housekeeping for more towels and maybe a mop bucket, they were there in a couple of minutes to clean up and called Maintenance, they were there in minutes also. Things can always go wrong and I judge a hotel on how they handle these issues, in this case service was excellent.
The facilities were good even though we did not use a lot (we were just having 10 days of R & R) everything was clean, The pool area looked great and a little bit of work going on but in no way was it intrusive to guests.
All round we found the staff to be extremely friendly in every section of the hotel and asked to look at a couple of other type of rooms for return visits the girl was more than happy to oblige.
The hotel is 10 minute walk to Bangala Road, we are not interested in the nightlife, but enjoy the walk. The beach is only 150 meters away. There are plenty of eating places in the area.
We had free wifi and I found it very good regardless of where we were in the hotel.
We have been to Phuket a number of times but not at this hotel. All round we were very happy with everything here and would go back in a heartbeat. Bring on our next trip there.

On our previous visit they were renovating on the floor where we stayed and we were promised an upgrade on our next visit. No upgrade!!! Our bathroom was not clean and the duvet cover had a big hole in it!!! There was a bundle of rubbish next to the lift for 5 days. The breakfast is tasteless. The rooms are however nice and the view good. The tours we booked at the hotel was very good and the driver Mr Dam is excellent!!!!

Room tip: Higher for the view
