“Excellent hotel, in fab location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

Having had to have a last minute change of hotel we chose the Marhaba over the Kanta and are so pleased we did.
Having been to Tunisia over 30 times I think we can honestly say that the Marhaba was one of the best we have stayed in for many reasons.

First the staff - they are some of the friendliest most helpful pleasant hotel staff we have have ever met in Tunisia. Our waiter in particular was second to none.

The location is obvioulsy always going to be one of the best for those wanting to stay in Kantoui - a short 5 minutes walk gets you to the shops, fairground, supermarket and marina.

The beach is very good not overcrowded or too many 'jet skis, parachutes'. Its a nice walk on the beach to the Port past Les Maisons de La Mer - which is a very quiet part of the beach.

The food in the hotel was plentiful, hot and a lot of choice - despite what other reviewers have written there was 2 Tunisian food choices every night, a 'carvery', fresh pasta cooked on demand and very nice fresh pitta type bread. Salad was very nice. My only little gripe was the desserts - a bit repetitive - but I am a pudding addict!!!! Breakfast was also good with fresh doughnuts, waffles and omelettes, again with extremely helpful and very nice staff.

The rooms aren't the most modern you'll find in Tunisia - a little old fashioned - but they are clean and our beds were very comfy. Our maid was excellent, the room was always spotless and the sheets, towels and voile was arranged everyday - a very nice touch which some hotels have stopped doing.

There isn't any entertainment during the day (thank goodness!!) just the music from next door - but it wasn't all day. Night time is also quiet - there was the odd night of a Tunisan belly dancer and a karaoke in the bar . We aren't stick in the muds but did like the hotel more because of the lack of the usual Tunisian entertainment.

If you want a hotel that gives you games/activities during the day and entertainment on tap every night then the Marhaba isn't for you but if you want a good value for money holiday, in a great location, fabulous beach, wonderful staff then the Marhaba is well worth considering.

We are already looking forward to next year. Thank you Marhaba for a fab holiday

Room Tip: Depends on what you want to see the rooms overlooking Kantoui (at the front) have a fab view to Sous...

“Great Location, Very Clean Hotel, Really Enjoyed The Food.”

BEWARE after reading some of the reviews prior to our visit i was slightly apprehensive about our forthcoming holiday. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY, As i can only speak as i find, reading some reports of there being no authentic tunisian food on offer, i can honestly say that on at least 12 of our 14 nights we had tunisian food on offer, to be totally honest there was probably to much choice as i put on a couple of pounds. The food was always piping hot and very tasty. If you are a fussy eater i am probably pretty sure you will find something to eat. Tunisians in the shops are a bit pushy but hey when in rome and all that. The hotel was extremely clean, The pool area was always very tidy along with the beach. The entertainment was not up to much. if you want entrtainment you would need to go out of hotel, but for us after a hard year at work we just wanted to chill out and recharge our batteries. WILL DEFO BE GOING BACK

“Sixth year in Tunisia, won't be returning back here!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

This was my sixth year in Tunisia and third back to this resort and I will not be returning back to the Marharba Palace. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean with very friendly maids and excellent location for the beach but that's about the only two positives I was able to pick out from the hotel.

Comparing to another 5 hotels we've previously stayed at in Tunisia this was by far the worst. The food was repetitive and was often quite simple and plain, I was only thankful for chips and pizza otherwise I'd have struggled to find something to eat every night. I was expecting typical Tunisian food such as cous-cous and none of these types of foods could be found on the night.

If you enjoy peace and quiet, this hotel is definitely for you. Not being an huge fan of entertainment on holiday as it is, some music around the pool, on the beach and at the evening meal would have just lightened the whole atmosphere of the hotel. Although, as for RIU Green Park next door, that certainly gets a huge thumbs up from me as for the whole holiday I was wishing I'd booked in there as it always seemed so lively and happy compared to the Marhaba Palace.

The staff seemed pleasant but didn't really seem to want to take an interest in your stay and often gave the impression of angling around you for tips.

Won't be returning back to this hotel!!!

“Great place”

We have stayed at this hotel 10 times in the last 20 years and obviously we love it or we wouldnt keep going back. if you want razamataz this isnt for you. If you want rest relaxation somewhere to unwind this IS for you. The staff are helpful without being gushy. Particular mention of our waiter Muhammed Choo choo, a diginfied man and perfect in what he does . We watched him polish the sugar dishes when there werent any tables left to wait on . He was there on our first visit and on our last, hopefully we will have him allocated when we return in November this year for our 53 rd wedding anniversary. Look forward to it
