When we got there we weren't allowed to check in until a room was ready. We wait 7 hours to get one room. The air conditioner didn't work neither did the fan in the bathroom. The bed was like a brick. I would never go back.

stayed here for a night, across the street from UB, very clean & comfortable. Hotel staff was very friendly. Close to many stores and eateries Highly recommend you stay here if you have business at the university!

Room tip: great price around $60

The cleanliness of this motel room is terrible. There is debris in every corner and hair everywhere. The ice machine was also down. I spent $63 on this room and I feel as though I wasted every single dollar. I am never staying here again and will let everyone u know not too stay at this motel.

We always stay at a motel 6 because we have two kids and a dogs. This chain allows both to stay free! We're used to the no frills. The room we got was newer and loved the colors. However I do agree the housekeeping staff should take a little more time on the rooms. There was hair all over the floor and a nasty old sock under the table where the chair was. The rest of the room was fine it just seems like the miss mopping and sweeping. Also seem to be understaffed so that could bend issue. All in all it's an average hotel......not my favorite motel six but not the worst either

I can't believe how different my experience was from some of the recent reviewers. Right off the bat, this is a Motel 6 - it is the bargain basement motel chain - a completely 'no frills' chain. So, knowing that, it's pretty clear that you can't expect amentities like shampoo, tissue, and fridges. The skinny on this particular Motel 6:

1. Recently renovated in an ikea-like style - laminate flooring, all new bathrooms, platform beds, fresh paint. The renovated rooms look great - clean and minimalist. Just getting rid of carpet brings the hygiene factor up a few notches.

2. Staff on my trip were friendly and accommodating. The property is clearly still going through renovations - looks like the windows are being replaced on the ground floor, so there are going to be hiccups. When this happens, the desk staff is great and definitely willing to work to solve problems.

3. Location is pretty good if you're there to shop or have plans in the niagara/amherst area.

All in all, good value. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place in an okay part of town, at a rock-bottom price, then this is the place for you. If you want a more full-service place, be prepared to pay an extra $20 or $30 per night.

Room tip: Take an odd-numbered room if noise bothers you - the highway is pretty loud, but the side of the hotel across from the pub is relatively quiet. This hotel allows smoking - smoking rooms are on the second floor and the rooms are new enough that they're not too smelly
