We really enjoyed our one night here. The staff were super friendly and helpful, even taking us to our rooms to give us a "tour" before they gave us the key. We did the Mt. Fugi circuit before checking in (opted for our baggage to be transported to hotel directly at train station while we took about 5 hours to do the boat/cablecar/gondala tour, highly recommend this) and our bags were waiting for us in our room when we checked in. Quite convenient! The hotel has old world elegance but at a modest price (show your passport and pay $1 for every year they have been open, $123 for us). The rooms are huge and spacious and we used the Japanese spa downstairs which was quite relaxing. I will warn that the restaurants here are outrageously expensive and not worth it. My husband ordered the napolian pizza and was not expecting it to be covered in scallops, and I got the chicken curry (curry sauce tasted like ketchup and chicken was all grizzle) for about $80. Just venture into town and try and find a spot there, I hear that the sushi restaurant around the corner was good. Enjoy your stay!
