We loved this place, but you won't if you want air conditioning and 5 star resort. The staff are the best and the food is amazing. The beach is hard to swim in because of rocks, but my kids are little so I had no problem with it.

For people who have never travelled in Asia staying in budget beach huts this resort may seem quaint. What they may not realise is that it is very overpriced. Usually such places charge around $10 to $20 a night. As Rimba charged far more I was expecting far better accommodation. I was shocked to find the huts didn't have hot water, or doors, or windows with glass. I was also disappointed that there was very basic shelving rather than drawers.
And I was further surprised that high prices were also asked for using the resorts extras like kayaks

However the worst thing about this resort was the fact that there was tar all over the beach. We even got tar on our bodies when swimming.We couldn't walk or sunbathe on the beach. Baby oil was provided for removing the tar which comes from ships offloading fuel but I can't imagine how it is for people who get tar in their hair. I really feel the resorts website should warn about this awful tar.

We stayed in the family chalet which was great for us as a family plus, I later found out, only one of two chalets that has hot water! The food is wonderful, set lunch and dinner, but very fresh and tasty. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, and great with kids (thanks!). A fantastic time was had by all despite the rain!

My family wanted to getaway from Singapore for a few days and found a fabulous resort. The staff bend over back-wards to help make your trip memorable and the food is the best I have tasted in Asia. The accomodations are primitive, and enhance the island get-away experience. The snorkling is wonderful and the available diving and fishing trips are great. A must-do in Southeast Asia!!!
