While the Zon Regency is visually quite impressive the level of service at the hotel leaves much to be desired. After waiting nearly thirty minutes to check in we waited another twenty for our bags to arrive at our room. As a backpacker such things don't generally phase me and I could easily forgive these massive delays and holding up my impatience as a 'first world problem' in the case of the Zon I was irked to a deep degree.

The best part was not spending ten minutes explaining that my UK visa is in fact just an extra page in my passport and that I am in fact an Australian citizen, nor was the best part waiting another ten minutes while the clerk tried to decide if I am who I claim to be. No the best part was being told that we could only have a room with a double bed despite having asked for a twin room at booking. I should know. I’m the agent that made the booking. It wasn't until I prepared to cause a fuss and looked a little angry that we finally got it sorted. One wonders though if some poor soul was done out of their twin room due to the hotels apparent inability to check anyone in properly.

We tried to visit the pool shortly after checking in, as we had been told at reception ‘Yes of course there is a bar at the pool’ We discovered that not only is it a no-alcohol zone but also that it was shut. Other lowlights include our fridge not working at all, normally not an issue but we had brought beer with us after seeing the words 'mini-bar' on the check in sheet. Lies. Filthy lies.

The service was terrible, the place was shoddy, the pool was shut.

Never again.

i stayed at the hotel for two nights, and it left me scarred for life
1 The noise from the lounge was loud and till late wee hours
2 The central aircond was not cool or cold enough
3 The air duct was making nerve wrecking squeaks
4 there was not enough tissue papers provided
5 the towels too few and looked worn out
6 the bed cover is torn

is max 3 star hotel for local? Internationally this is a 1 star hotel- very aged. All good review were only were from Malaysians, rooms are noisy. Constant loud music from the open dining room which echo through the open atrium which all the rooms surround. Can see the light through bottom of the doors. All the rooms reek of musty mold, Ceilings have black mold. Changed 4 rooms still musty. Requested nonsmoking was informed there was none. Housekeeping was terrible. Rooms were not vaccuumed properly- pistachio shells in 1 room, garbage from previous person stll not cleaned, carpet were filthy. Blanket inside thin duvet cover were all frayed & well worn, towels had a musty smell. Bathroom sinks & bathtubs were rusted, dented and peeling from a second coat of regular paint that was painted to cover the age. The 1st bathroom was never cleaned and the label from previous person was still stuck to the side of the inside of the sink, toilet dirty, hall & bath floors were sticky. Air conditioner filter never been cleaned in years- moldy & smelly, black around the intake & out grills. 20" CRT tv which defective. Remote was chained & does not work very well. Safes did not stay locked in 2 rooms & maintenance could not fix them. Room key reader not very

I stayed for 2 days 1 night for business trip. The room was ok with free Wifi by request when you check in. The check in process was very slow and it took us half and hour to check in.

It was convenince where next to a shopping mall and sell duty free stuff like liquor and ciggy. It was very lively at night where some clubs and pubs around.

You might consider to have a drink at open space where overlook the rooms at 5h floor.

MIght consider to skip the breakfast too as it looks a bit crappy to me too.
