“Fraudulent Activity”

We stayed at this property last June 2009 and were dissapointed.
Room was big but basic and decorated in cheap furnishings and fittings
Restaurant had a extremely limited menu (2 main courses) and canned fruit for desert.
Grounds are poorly looked after.
Not worth the money they charge.
Worst of all even after settling the account in full on departure
the hotel debited our cards again 18 months later for the same amount.
After repeated phone calls, faxes & e-mails over a period of two weeks
there was no reply or explaination from the hotel or the head office in KL
Ener at your own risk !

“So much potential. No water, no electricity and customer service was zero”

On the 23rd September, I joined my office weekend away to this 'resort'. As part of our celebration, we had hired the whole resort therefore the staff were aware that around 100 people would be arriving. This begs the question why they did not think to check beforehand if (Prisoner Cell)Block H rooms had any electricity or water! I was one of the unlucky ones to be in this block. Despite repeatedly asking reception (when there was anyone around) when it would be fixed, I only got electricity - I had to shower in other rooms and ended up sleeping on a spare bed with a friend.
Other rooms in our group had other issues including a dead mouse in one, general lack of maintenance all over but mostly the lack of cleanliness, rooms smelling awful and lack of staff willingness to do anything to remedy the situation.
The resort looks quite good (bit over-enthusiastic on decorative water fountains which annoyed me more as they had running water yet I didnt in my room!), the pool area is lovely but this does not make up for the overall poor service and cleanliness - as the title says, there is so much potential.
The lack of urgency or any customer service awareness was infuriating and due to our large group booking, we negotiated compensation and those who were without water/electricity have a free 3D2N stay...I will not be going to Sibu Sari Pacifica but using it to try elsewhere: I wouldnt even go back there for free!

Room Tip: Stay in A,B or C blocks but check first on cleanliness and water!

In pictures/website this hotel looks good and although relatively expensive - if it lived up to expectations it would be a great place - especially given how close it is to Singapore.

We booked a two night stay at the hotel and left after one.

Our experience (group of 6 friends) was dire - the transfer from Singapore did not work, the pool water was brown (could not see the bottom of the pool) the hot water in the rooms did not work and the walls had rot growing on them. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, consequently the food took over 3 hours to be served (each person ordered one main course) and when finally delivered the food was disappointing at best.

The only positive thing about the stay was that after a lengthy battle with the Management (based in KL Malaysia) they grudgingly agreed to refund us the full cost of the stay in cash - I would recommend anyone who has had their holiday ruined by their total in-difference to hotel standards - follow this action.

I would strongly suggest you look at the other options on the island before confirming your stay with Sari Pacifica on Sibu Island.

As a kind warning to anyone who intend to make reservation to this resort please reconsider.

I’m from HK and my friend who is a singaporean booked for a 3D2N trip at the resort through ShengyXn Travel. We reached Tg Leman jetty at 10 plus am with a mini-bus arranged by ShXngyan Travel. Whilst other people from the same bus boarded a ferry to another resort, my friend and I were simply told to wait for another ferry. We kept on waiting but nobody fetched us and told us what was happening.

We waited till 11 plus am and called the Singapore sub-agent, SXny Travel, who was responsible for hotel booking. The person in charge, Micheal told us to wait for the ferry, which he said would usually leave the resort at 11 am and reach the jetty at 12 plus.
At 12.30pm, when we asked around we were told to answer a call by a guy who appeared to be delivering stuff to the resort. The person on the phone was Ms Santhi, the manager of Sari Pacifica who told us that the generator was spoiled and she could not have us at the resort. She offered us either a full refund or being transferred to their sister company, Aseana resort which according to her is a 2 star resort with chalet houses. She insisted she could not guarantee us any refund of price difference. However, if we chose the refund then we have to cancel the trip which was very disappointed as my friend and I purposely applied leave for this trip. Also, we would have to arrange vehicle back to SG by ourselves which would take another 4 hours.

We were very upset though we called and spoke nicely to the SaXy Travel guy who said he would speak to the manager. He said he would see if he could get us a room at Sibu island resort. We told him clearly that we do not want to go to Aseana resort.
When he called us back, he said he would send us to PularBesar and that Ms Santhi would arrange. He said that the booking was full at Sibu island resort. I asked him if it is PulauBesar resort and he said yes. So we took an one hour ride to Mersing , only to discover to our horror that we were being sent to Aseana resort at PulauBesar, Mersing, the one we clearly told that we did not want. We were very angry and disappointed and called Micheal. He had the cheek to tell us to enjoy first and just follow Ms Santhi’s arrangement. We were quite fed up and demanded that he send us to Sibu Island Resort.

Upon our strong attitude and pressure to complain, he then booked a room for us at Sibu Island Resort (which he said full booking when we spoke to him nicely) and asked a Malaysian Travel agency to send us back to Tg Leman jetty. We wasted another hour travelling and by the time we reached Sibu Island Resort, it was already evening time.

During the trip, we were told by others that Sari Pacifica is disorganised and had ferry problems too. I would strongly advise anyone to rethink carefully before making any reservation to this resort!

“Definitely not a 5-star resort”

As covered in most of the other reviews, this place was very disappointing. I've stayed on Sibu many times, mostly at Rimba, which along with the Sea Gypsy, offers rustic but cozy accommodation with excellent service. So, as something different, I thought we'd give Sari Pacifica a try. Since it bills itself as a 5-star hotel with lots of amenities and air-conditioned rooms, I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, the only thing 5-star about the place is the location and view. Firstly, they charge a lot of money for the boat trip from the jetty, on top of the high price we were already paying for the rooms.The rooms are okay (big bathrooms are a plus, as was the AC), but if you look closely, you'll see that they are very rough around the edges, as if they were built and furnished hurriedly and randomly. While the staff were friendly, they were very few and far between and it was difficult to find anyone sometimes. To go to the spa (which was locked), I had to spend 30 minutes tracking someone down who could help me. The same happened at checkout. This place is so very expensive and in my opinion, it is absolutely not worth the money. I'm surprised they can get away with calling themselves a 5-star resort. Go to Rimba or Sea Gypsy instead.
