“friendly owner, great service and nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

Mr Lee went out of his way to look after us and to provide us with transport to and from town as it is a bit out of the city. There are good food stalls within a few minutes walk and the biggest and cleanest mega supermarket we have ever seen.

We had an air con family room though there were only two fo us and free wifi and self service breakfast. Mr Lee also arranged our transport to Kuala Besut and the van picked us up from the guest house.

Room Tip: great accommodation but not in town

“Mister Lee is super lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We stayed one night with Mr. Lee in July, and he was super lovely - dropping us in town and collecting us again afterwards, and then taking us to the airport the following day. He laid out a tasty breakfast spread for us and couldn't have been more welcoming.
The accommodation was basic, but the aircon meant it was plenty adequate. In an odd way I rather enjoyed hanging out in the common area watching an awesomely bad movie under the fan in the stinking hot heat.

“He is just so nice :) and helpful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

After reading the other reviews for this place I 100% agree with every body else .

This man is so kind and helpful , he seams willing to do any thing to help .

we arrived yesterday , and straight away he offered to take usw down town , we said we need'd a little break and then we would like to go at 4.00

so at 4 he drops us off and tells us to ring him after 8.30 , we had a good look around for a few hours (we got droped off at A&W I love the fries) at around 7 ish a market pops up selling bits and bobs.

but its hot and were tired so at 8.30 we ring him and he is there in five mins smileing ....

the house is clean , and after reading a review of someone say how there were no mirrors in each room , I laughed coz now in each room there is a mirror.

the fridge is stocked with drinks for a very good price , and i just got up this morring to find breakfast layed out nicely on the table and a note saying to help our selfs and to call him if we need a ride.

MR Lee is very kind and helpful and the house is clean and close to town, its just down the road from tune hotels( so you can get the idea) The beds have very clean and very new looking sheets and blankets we are given towels and soap, and each room has air con and a fan, and there is cable TV , and a computer down stairs with avery good wi-fi (im useing it now up stairs)

So thanks Mr lee for looking after us and makeing us feel welcome :)

if were ever here agin we will be sure to stay :)

“Legendary hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

We stayed in Kota Bharu for one night in between the Perhentians and Taman Negara and were very impressed by Lee Guesthouse.

Mr Lee has just purchased a new property and has renovated it- it has 4 bedrooms, a lounge/reception area, a kitchen and a large bathroom. We were impressed with the Guesthouse and had a comfortable night's sleep. In the morning, we had to get up at 6am to get the jungle train. However, Mr Lee was already up and had laid the table with our breakfast and had even toasted our bread.

He was a wonderful host and went the extra mile for us; the day before Mr Lee realised that there were only 4 tickets left for the jungle train. So, whilst we were exploring Kota Bharu, he drove to the station and bought our tickets for us! Something that he did not have to do, but it made such a difference to our travel plans.

A big thank you to Mr Lee; a brilliant chap.

“Excellent Service, Great Price, Incredible Hospitality Courtesy of Mr Lee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

My friend and I did a quick overnight at Lee Guesthouse as we were heading to the Perhentians early the next morning. Mr. Lee picked us up from the airport and he helped us change money before we left for the ride back to his house. The guesthouse is 30 minutes from the airport and it was a cool experience to see Kota Bharu and a non-touristy part of Malaysia. Mr. Lee upgraded us to a bigger room at no charge which was superclean and quiet. When we got to the house we asked about a 7-11 and he drove us straight there for free, no problems. He also arranged for the taxi to pick us up in the morning to take us to the boat jetty and bought our boat tickets to Perhentians. Mr. Lee made everything so easy and you can tell he really enjoys running the guesthouse. I would highly, highly recommend staying here - the guy is so friendly and helpful and it was a real pleasure to stay at Lee Guesthouse.
