Decided to take a chance on a budget hotel for the fun of it and had mixed feelings about it. Room rate was at a bargain basement price but I guess you get what you pay for. The hotel's facade reminds one of a 70's-built institution for retirees or looneys. One is then greeted to a bunch of old folks lounging in tatty sofas deliberating on what's going to happen next on the telly they're transfixed on. Onward and one will find the reception desk staffed by a grumpy elder lady who gets impatient when asked to repeat what she says. The hotel reeks of a musky, old stench reminiscent of my last community visit to an elder shelter. Into an old Schindler-branded lift I entered and up to Storey 1 of this old building. Greeted by an old sink and old mosaic flooring, I made my way to my room which was up some steps and past a hall. On opening the door I thought I was teleported to years bygone. An old ceiling fan, a room unit air-conditioner and all the old world amenities afforded at an inn were afforded. However, for its price, I must say I shouldn't be complaining. At all. And I forgot to mention FREE WIFI in rooms!
