We have just returned from 6 nights at the Bayview Georgetown in a Premier Grand Deluxe Room with Seaview. The view was fabulous looking out over some roofs to the Penang Bridge in the distance. Excellent view, especially at night, while having a drink with friends!
Our room had been recently renovated and was a large room with a King Size bed. The room service was excellent and anything we requested was happily supplied. The bed was firm but comfortable and a good nights sleep was had by all.
The seafood Buffet in the revolving restaurant was fabulous. You name it and I am sure it was on the buffet. Everything from smoked salmon, prawns, scallop and mussels on the cold buffet to baked fish in foil, crab, slipper lobsters, oysters in egg etc etc etc on the hot buffet.
To finish the meal there was a lovely selection of desserts.
The buffet breakfasts are also excellent with a large range of Western and Asian food. Beautiful Congee, Indian curries, Asian noodles and dim sums, eggs cooked to order, beautiful muesli and yoghurt, etc etc. I would be here all day if I tried to list everything on offer.
One big complaint that we had was that we had to leave the hotel at 5.30am. When I enquired as to what we could order for breakfast in lieu of the buffet which we had paid for I was told that all we could have was a take away pack which we would have to go down and pick up from the kitchen. You can imagine our excitement when we looked in our packs to find half a round of ham and cheese sandwich, a croisant (no butter or jam) and a green apple! They do have a room service menu which applies from 11pm to 6am but you could not oder a dish from that. Be wary - do not pay for the buffet on your last morning if you have an early departure. Do your own thing.
We generally ate out of the Hotel and had an excellent meal in Kapatains Restaurant , Little India. If you enjoy Indian food you will enjoy this. The four of us ate for RM50! Also the Food Mall on the fourth floor of 1st Avenue shopping centre has authentic Malaysian food at very good prices/ Very clean and enjoyable.
Room Tip: Request a Premier Grand Deluxe room with Seaview. We had room numbers 1405 1406 which had a connecti...

Your kind words and positive ratings of the hotel, the restaurants, our staff and services are most appreciated. We apologize for the “poor” breakfast box. I have addressed this with my chef and changes will be made to improve the items served. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to have the pleasure of serving you again in the near future.
