Rooms are clean. Pleasant bed. Basic but functional bathroom. I was disappointed by the breakfast which is only Asian. If you like to have an English/American or Continental breakfast opt for another place in town. There is a tourist office but they couldn't help me for I am a single traveller. They only seem to be interested if you are at least a party of two or more.

The location is sandwiched between Suria shopping mall and Wisma Sabah. This is a good base for the first timer visiting the states. In Wisma sabah there are plenty of travel agents that might be useful to help with your flight booking, outbound and inbound tours. The services, cleanness and breakfast are just average and nothing special and you might considered other option as there 2 new hotels that are just complete and opened at the end of last year, 63 (opposite the Sabah Tourism Board office, this can be very helpful too if you want to know about hotels, restaurant outside the city or island hopping which Sabah has plenty to offer) and less than 10 minutes walk is the horizon. Hesitate to recommend.

We spent a week at Gaya Centre Hotel, going out to the islands to snorkel every day. The staff never complained about the sand we brought back, and gave us new towels every day.

The hotel is located only 5 minute walk from the jetty, which was perfect for us islanders.

Breakfast here is the best we've had in Malaysia, with a nuanced buffet with Asian and western food. Room service food is fresh and tasty.

Staying on the 12Th floor, we had a great view over to the Island Gaya.

The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom.

The staff let us store our luggage for free for a whole week when we went to Sandakan.

Negative:
- The shower was overgrown with fungus. They really need cleaning!
- Internet (via cable) was down for half the week. (The rest it worked fine).
- Maybe a bit too expensive.

Breakfast was BAD! rooms were small, especially as 3 of us were in 1 room. if the service was better, maybe this can be rated better. but overall disappointing.
