I spent two nights at the Sofitel and as always, the stay was great. Lots of towels, good products in the bathroom, heated tiles, English TV, large rooms and a really nice indoor pool. Breakfast was also superb!

Taxi drivers dont really know this hotel yet, so look out for a massive building.

Take care when you withdraw cash from ATMs in Gaungzhou- we got fake notes from an HSBC ATM. Businesses wont take such notes- rather withdraw from an ATM inside the bank during operating hours and not after hours!

Building great, doorman great, check in, no problem except they have no idea that Skyteam Elite Plus are entitled to room upgrade subject to availability. It was the reason I chose sofitel hotel but totally clue less to the benefit.

The room was very good, styling and bathroom luxurious. The quality of coffee was good and the housekepper gave me extra when I asked.

Japanese restaurant was really good (I am fairly demmanding when it comes to Japanese food).

Breakfast. Oh how it looked so good. sunny side up eggs, baked beans, chicken and pork sausages, grilled tomoto, mushroom. Only problem is it was totally cold - fridge cold. I let the staff know and they made me up a fresh plate of food. Only problem is half way through I realise the sausages are only cooked on the outside - still red and soft/wet in the middle.

That meant no breakfast before a busy day. Compalined at the time and by website about both issues. No response.
