The hotel was generally ok but if you can't sleep well there then there's no point staying there.
The room was nice with a small but functional bathroom like one on a ship, nice facilities, wonderful smell removing spray in the room for your belongings which need freshening, wonderful bath salts when we checked in, complimentary water, soap, Shiseido body wash, shampoo and conditioner etc. However, the bedding just wasn't good enough.
The pillows were so hard they could be used as an offensive weapon, I am not exaggerating, I really think it would be down right dangerous to hit someone with one with some force behind it. They did not assist with sleep.
There were extra blankets but they were not fluffy duvets and more the functional blankets of camping of which you need several to keep warm.
I couldn't sleep properly there and it slightly tainted my enjoyment of that wonderful city.
When we put the green clean please notice on the door asking for our room not to be cleaned, they didn't and they left us a bag with more water and towels on the door which was nice.
Unfortunately as one of the towels had a huge black curly pubic hair on it when I got it out the bag, I spent the rest of the holiday checking my towels front and back before I used them. Gross, just really, really gross.
I loved Sapporo and I definitely want to return.
However, despite the general good quality of the hotel, I won't be returning because I got very little rest there.
