Our first time at a 3-star hotel inJapan, for hotel rate at the Snow Fest near Sapporo station is high, turns out it is a good choice. Though not as close as Gracery or Nikko.
Location: still considered to be close to Sapporo station. Take Exit 2, and walk the underground street exit through Century Royal hotel 1st Floor exit, a short walk outside via a crossing the hotel is right there. A rent a car place is right across the hotel. Good for those intend for a road trip after a stopover before/after a car trip. there is convenience store around the corner.
Room: a simple business hotel and good for leisure traveller. We had a Dlx Double as shown on our booking site, but at the hotel we were told there is twin/semi double /double. room small with a queen size bed, a lot of shelves but a small closet. There is a safe. a good size LCD TV on the wall. we were on 12 fl. can see the Ferris wheel from our only window in the room. Desk is long with sufficient space. Bathroom amenities is better than in our last hotel, Century Royal. We were glad we had made this choice.
NO wifi, only freecable internet. Free Coffee & Tea at the lounge (where breakfast served) from 3-11pm . The hot bath on 2fl. is not big. House guests have to bring their towels from the room. Water temp is good and hot.
Service: Good and helpful. A few staff speak fleunt English but not all. No concierge desk.
Overall it is good value (our rate is high due to the snow festival) it seems normally the rate is reasonable.
Breakfast: Buffet, with limited choice but still good and with frequent refill.
only disappointed at the fruit category.
I would go back and may even try other Mitsui Garden hotels in Japan.
