This is a very clean, modern, friendly, and comfortable place to stay in Kyoto.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the service is great, the location is really good. it's a 15 minute walk to Kyoto railway station, and we walked to and from the station every time.

The only issue is that even though they have free internet access, Wifi is only in the lobby area which is very small and dark, and is therefore not comfortable to do what you need on the internet.

Would definitely stay there again though.

Just one metro stop from Kyoto railway station,the citadines is located in gojo. I loved the decor of the citadines. With very zen feeling walkway leading to the front desk. The apartment has basics cooking facilities, so it allow us to buy those beautiful ingredients from kisicho market and cooked our meals... There are 2 24- hour noodle houses next to the hotel, and a 7/11 right opposite.

Location wise it is convenient for our visiting all the Kyoto sites.

There is a laundry room in the basement.

good location near the subway and walkable to the market, train station and heritage sites. staff very polite, regularly cleaned, modern, light rooms. no wifi in rooms though and our mac air wasnt compatible with the wires they supplied in the room. everything you needed in the room though for a decent price

I stayed here in early February 2012.The citadine Kyoto is one of the best places I've stayed in all of Japan (and I have traveled extensively throughout Honshu and Hokkaido).
Its:
- Very clean
- very modern and spacious (Japanese size): comfortable apartment with cooking facilities.
- Located in the middle. One kilometre from Shijo/Gio (to the north) and Kyoto (to the south).
- Very very good value for money
- Small hotel which means that its quiet and staff are very attentive.
- The foyer is beautiful. Small but artistic and comfortable, certainly not like many other hotels in Japan which appear dated and tired.
- staff spoke exceptional English.

Please note:
- Can be difficult to take trains out to temple regions. Be prepared to change trains at least once or twice.
- The walk is pleasant if it doesn't raining. It rained for me, so i ended up taking a taxi from shijo (about 700 yen)
- The breakfast is what you pay for. So 700 yen is a small price, so food is simple (bread rolls, congee, eggs, cereal). Coffee and tea is from a hot vending machine, which sounds bad but tastes the same as filtered coffee which the Japanese prefer.
