I have nothing bad or particularly good to say about this hotel. Location is central, rooms comfortable and relatively spacious - however it did feel a little dated everything from the "Dynasty-style" grand lobby, the bathrooms to the slightly depressing mini-shopping mall in the basement. The cafe on the ground floor was always extremely busy but the selection looked limited and uninviting. In the end we always decided to east outside of the hotel, even for breakfast.
Despite these uninspiring impressions I thought it was reasonable value for money for. Kyoto also seemed to have a not particularly wide range of hotel types, as a city it seemed geared up for tour groups not independent travellers.
