Stayed at Impiana over the Lunar New Year weekend, this time with my family to attend a wedding at the nearby JW Marriott. The experience was once again great. First and most importantly, the staff at Impiana never fail to impress - they are polite, helpful and accommodating, treating guests with utmost respect. The hotel typically provides complimentary fruits in-room and as it was LNY when we were there, we got 4 mandarin oranges.
I stayed in the superior room without breakfast this time round (stayed in deluxe previously). Got 2 rooms at a promo rate with early bird discount. Rooms are clean and well maintained. All amenities in good working condition except the air conditioning. The air con in my room was not strong enough - we had to turn it down to 10deg on high fan mode to cool the room. On the other hand, my parents' room was cold at 20deg. The air con prob needed maintenance but I didnt make a fuss as the temperature was still okay though I had to adjust the aircon settings.
Secondly, I need to share my thought on the bed. It is a queen sized bed (I think), which is okay for average sized people BUT the duvet was too small. Duvet should fall off the bed edge when laid but the duvets in the superior room covers just up till the edge of the bed. This makes it a problem when you have 2 people sharing the bed as the duvet is not enough to cover 2 people comfortably; you will end up pulling the duvet from the other to keep warm! I dont think the duvet is the correct size for the bed. If you are bigger than average, I suggest you go for the deluxe king rooms.
The room came with free broadband so I brought along my notebook. No free WIFI but it was just announced yesterday via the hotel's official facebook page that ALL rooms come with free WIFI now! This is simply great news! I guess feedback from guests are considered seriously. I am glad to know there will be free WIFI for my next trip to Impiana.
Other than that, the room is spacious enough and fully equipped with a full bath (no separate shower), toiletries, cable TV, coffee & tea making facilities with complimentary bottled water daily, hand bidet, hairdryer in the desk drawer, iron and ironing board, a safe, bath robe etc etc etc.
As mentioned previously, the hotel is at an excellent location, within walking distance to KLCC, Pavilion and the rest of Bukit Bintang so you have easy access to food and shopping! There is a newly opened area just behind the hotel called KL City Walk, which was somehow closed when we were there BUT they blast Lunar New Year songs everyday, even till late. This is beyond the hotel's control as it is external so if you get rooms facing the back of the hotel, do ensure you pull the curtains fully to keep out the noise!
All in all my stay at Impiana was great except for the minor hiccups above. I will definitely be back, but will probably opt for the deluxe king room again next time!
Room Tip: Opt for deluxe room with king bed if you are bigger than average in size.
