“Really Unique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I found our stay at H2O Hotel generally nice. We booked 3 rooms for 3 families through online because you can save more than to book directly in the hotel. Aqua room is very unique due to its one aquarium wall. But since there is no window, you can’t tell if its daytime already unless you look at your watch. Internet access is complimentary with password. Minibar has a lot of freebies, you can get everything inside. There is also a list of what are inside each room so you would know which are “not complimentary”. They also provide only two sets of slippers and you need to pay if you need extra. However, request for extra beddings (in the floor) is allowed since the bed is small for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bath tub is exposed in a corner, no enclosure at all. The toilet wall is smoked glass but you can sense what is going on inside.

Park view room has its pros and cons. You can watch each show of the Ocean Park outside in the comfort of your room, but you can’t hear the music, and you’re looking at the back view. But you must also be aware that if the curtains are open, you can also be seen by the people at the bleachers who are watching the show.

Swimming pool is complimentary but it is also outside facing the show stage area so those people who will watch the show can also watch you while swimming. Free gym is ok, just wear appropriate gym clothes. Nice dining and shopping at the ground floor. Very nice staff, friendly people around. Complimentary buffet breakfast. All in all, the hotel is worth your money.

“Unique waterfront hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

After doing much homework on whether to stay here or not (Thanks to reviews on here as well) my girlfriend and I were very happy with our decision.

We stayed in an Aqua room and it's a very unique set up. The back wall is a full aquarium which makes for a very soothing and relaxing environment. The fish can swim from room to room along the wall and they definitely watch you because they react to movements that you may make.

The room is not huge but it does have everything you will need. A work/desk area, a big storage closet and cabinet combination, a queen size bed, a nice big screen tv and a refrigerator and safe.

The bathroom is very modern. I will agree with others though that the glass wall set-up (frosted in some spots and clear in other areas) is a bit strange but if you can get past that sometimes awkward not so private feeling then you will enjoy this room. The rain showerhead was really nice but the one flawed design in the shower is that the floor outside the shower will get wet.

Accessing the hotel can be a bit of a hike and having it attached to the Aquarium/park can be a hassle if you let it all get to you, but do your homework and you will know what you are getting yourself into. They were doing a lot of road construction out in front but eventually I am sure it's going to help the access for their customers.

Customer service was top notch all around (just wish they would say good morning/evening to both the man AND the woman. Pet peeve of mine). Room service was fast and the food was good. We recommend Gerry's Grill for lunch/dinner. Good food and very reasonable prices.

This is a fun modern designed hotel that can offer a lot for relatively reasonable rates. The views are spectacular (outdoor lounge area is very nice) and once on the property you will have all that you need, whether you are there for relaxation, family fun or business. We recommend it and we will visit it again.

“Back Again...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We just stayed at H2O again on Feb 4th in one of their Aqua rooms. We've never stayed in a bay view or park view room as the aqua rooms are so cool! We got an email from metrodeal.com offering a php28,860 package deal for php5500. We jumped on it thinking we would get one of their suites with a bathtub and buffet breakfasts passes to ocean park etc... well that was far from the case. The deal offered by metrodeal.com was put together by indochinastrings.com and once we had our voucher we tried to use it. There are several phone numbers listed on the voucher but they were all worthless as they were unavailable when called.

I also emailed indo china strings and got a response to my email directing me to their website with a note that there were no rooms available for our choice of date. So iI filled out the online form for the following week and all I got was an automated response with no confirmation or reservation number. Getting frustrated I called hotel H2O direct and was told to email Sir Judea Santos direct, with a couple hours I got a response from him and shortley after had a confirmation number but was told to print the letter from indo china strings and bring it when checking in. I emailed indochinastrings.com several times and never did receive any response.

Fortunately upon checking in our original voucher and a copy of the email from Mr. Santos was enough. Check in was fast and smooth, but thats when the disappointment began. We got the standard aqua room, we didn't get a buffet breakfast just a set breakfast with only filipino style choices was not happy with that (in H2O's defense the manager did offer to have an American style breakfast made up for me if I paid the difference, I declined but the gesture was appreciated. We received 2 passes to their water fountain show and certificates for a spa but no info on where the spa was or how to use?? so those were worthless. The fountain show was entertaining, more so for the kids!

So if we were to book the same room on the H2O website it would run PHP 7,646 with passes to the fountain show and the spa certificates, so we saved php2100 but we weren't allowed the buffet just a set breakfast, plus we had all the aggravation and problems trying to book.

Many thanks to Mr. Santos for helping us get our stay booked. I think H2O should cut ties with indo china strings completely as it only goning to make people look at hotel H2O in unfavorable light. Having spent over 4 hours calling and emailing trying to get out stay booked and having to reschedule it would have been worth paying the rate offered by the hotel direct, and next time we will.

As for the hotel, room was amazing, very clean, staff were friendly from security to front desk. There are reviews stating that the walls are thin, we haven't experienced that in the aqua rooms. Also on the weekends Ocean Park is chaotic, tons of people! However once you step into the 1st or 2dn floor lobby of H2O it gets calm and quite! It is true you can't leave the aquarium park once inside but it makes sense once you see it and the number of visitors. This trip we passed on going thru it as it was a weekend and we had a baby and stroller.

Room Tip: aqua room all the way!!

“Hotel H2O - Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Hotel H2O is the first hotel in the Philippines with the unique concept of aquatic themed rooms...an interesting experience how it feels living in a posh aquarium lined with luxury and style.

The hotel is conveniently located in the country's capital, Manila City. The hotel is literally beside the Manila sea port, so it should be no problem if you're coming from a holiday yacht cruise or inter island ferry boats. Drive from the airport should be 45 mins tops. About 15-20 mins taxi ride from the provincial bus stations in Lawton and Pasay. 10 mins walk or 5 mins by taxi ride to the nearest city train station (LRT UN Avenue station). Taxi cabs also ply the area.

Hotel H20 is in the premises of the Manila Ocean Park, within the complex of Rizal Park (Luneta Park) South East Asia's largest national urban park. As such, there are plenty of tourist attracts that abound you. Going around the ocean park itself for the marine wildlife shows and activities can sure get the little kids and adults going. The attractions don't stop there, step outside and you're in for more sites such as the monument of Jose Rizal, Light and Sound complex, relief map boardwalk, the Intramuros (historic walled city of Manila) and for a few minutes drive you're at the country's biggest shopping mall - the SM Mall of Asia.

The rooms are spacious and stylish with very clean bath rooms, rain head showers and jacuzzi bath tubs for selected rooms, basic bath amenities, mini bar and digital cable tv. Rooms also have WiFi access. However getting the password can be quite inconvenient as each device will be assigned with its own user name and password for the internet access good for 24 hours. The fitness center has basic work out facilities as well.

Housekeeping staff are polite and efficient. Room service may take a while even for simple orders like sandwiches so its better to order in advance or allow for preparation and delivery time. The concierge/bellmen staff are polite. Front desk people can be quite busy and sometimes forget to ask if you need luggage assistance, nevertheless they are still accommodating and polite.

Food choices are plenty at the ocean park premises but to have more local feel and experience try the local restaurants in Roxas boulevard, Remedios circle or at the Mall of Asia.
