I'd previously stayed in Pasay & wanted to see Intramuros. The hotel is a little difficult to find, but it's a worthwhile find. The hotel is set in an older style complex & is charming. The thing that strikes you all the way through your stay is how friendly the staff are at the hotel. The staff really make you feel so welcome. The room we had was a good size & had loads of old world charm. The hotel location is much quieter being within Intramuros, but the downside is that there are not too many restaurants or bars nearby. It was fascinating to see the old Spanish quarter of Manila. I would have no hesitation in recommending the White Knight as a hotel, but only if you want to experience the old Manila & don't want to be close to the action. I'd certainly stay here again as the staff were so warm & hospitable.

My fiancee and I stayed there for four nights. It is not perfect, but it is such a romantic setting. San Augustin Church built in 1571 right across the road. Manila Cathedral a couple blocks over. No need to pay for taxis, trikes, Jeepneys or whatever you dare- so many of the things one would want to see are right there. I think it helped me squeeze in more sight-seeing than I otherwise could have in only four days. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Tips here and there make the stay a happier one. I didn't go there for wifi or TV so don't really care about those.
It was clean. It was safe- but don't venture out on the side streets after dark. That being said, there were guards everywhere and around every turn. I feel like I was within the sight of at least one guard at all times from dusk onward within the entire compound that the hotel is located in. The 24 hour menu and drink availability was great. I recommend the chicken cordon bleu for westerners. I enjoyed the live music very much and it added to the special feel of this place. Live music every night- always. Cool.

COMPLICATED NOTE about the shower but you'll be glad you read this if you stay here: they use an instant heat water heating system. Turn the dial on the thing probably next to the mirror until the light comes on. The round knob in the shower controls the flow of hot water only. If you turn this knob up too high, the instant water heater will not be able to heat the water fast enough and it will go cold-- but it is no big deal, slow it down and it is still plenty hot and easily enough flow. To access cold water, turn the side lever on the spigot at the bottom. This adds cold water to the stream. The top lever on the spigot controls whether water comes out in the tub spigot or in the showerhead. Forgive me if I got the levers mixed up. Still, easy enough to figure out. If this ever helps anybody, give Raul the day manager a good tip. He's a very polite gentleman and treated my fiancee and I very well.

Beautifully built colonial style hotel which is surroynded with historical sites. Staff is kind and polite. However, the Internet connection speed inside the room is good in the afternoon but can get very slow at night. Called reception to check but didn't get a response. I can just give an average service level because of poor Internet connection at night (my husband has got something urgent to work with using Internet).

The rooms of the hotel are basic and made for filipino sizes. But they are very clean and has aircondition. The outdoor area and the surroundings of the hotel as well as the family like athmosphere, is what makes this affordable hotel special. It has a spanish colonial style courtyard with live music every evening and the neighbourhood of intramuros feels like a little oasis in chaotic Manila. The staff are terrific and really made mje feel special. I recommand it warmly for travellers who prefer affordable accomodation and a charming athmosphere rather than luxury.
