Spent eight nights here with my wife in a 'suite' room which was not really a suite in the usual hotel sense but a very large room (with a separate storage room) with a comfortable queen size bed. The bathroom was of a good size with a walk-in shower (no bath). The hot water pressure was very low resulting in a disappointing shower experience but passable nevertheless. This really was the only poor feature of this hotel as the smiling and welcoming service was more than excellent and nothing was too much trouble. No lift/elevator but only three floors (G+2) and the staff always assisted with baggage etc. The restaurant menu was extensive and catered for all tastes and nationalities- the quality of the food and service was excellent. There was live music every night on the terrace by high quality musicians with a bar service that was outstanding - the cocktail barman was a treat. This hotel is part of a beautifully refurbished spanish plaza (San Luis) with the hotel, shops, restaurants and cafes clustered around the inner courtyard. The plaza is opposite the beautiful church of San Augustin, monastery & museum and is well worth a visit (100 pesos). This is within the walled city of Intramuros which has maintained it's Spanish colonial character and architecture and is a real oasis from the madness of downtown Manila (Ermita, Malate etc) although that is a short taxi ride away-as are the main shopping malls, beautiful parks, convention centre and oceanarium. This is a budget hotel that provides a quality of overall experience that we fund exceptional - it is thoroughly recommended!
