We stayed at this Best Western for 1 night on our way to Vietnam and 1 night on our way back to the US 2 weeks later. My husband & I were both really impressed with this hotel. It was perfect for our needs - which was really just a clean safe place to lay our head for the night after a long day of travel. Our driver arrived on time to pick us up as scheduled, the hotel room was recently renovated and very clean/nicely decorated, and the wait staff was extremely accomodating and helpful. They accepted US dollars which was great as we hadn't had a chance yet to exchange currency. They also made special arrangements to provide us free breakfast even though we were leaving the hotel before 5a in the morning and went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. On our returning stay, there unfortunately happened to be a workers strike at the airport which made us very nervous, but the front desk staff really helped us make last minute changes to our plans so that our ride would pick us up even earlier to ensure that we still made our flight on time. I'm really so glad that we stayed here and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, clean, safe place to stay. We never had the chance to walk around the neighborhood, but the location looked good - I would say no more than a 15 min ride from the airport. The only negative I can think of is that the elevator was quite old and slow - so we instead always opted for the stairway. Otherwise, no complaints!

Rooms are big and clean. Decent breakfast.
Elevator was still down, so you should go up to 5-th floor everytime.
Wi-Fi is free for guests. Near Mabini ave and Hayat hotel.
A area around is a little adult oriented and not perfectly safe.

BTW, hotel has a safe in room and one at reception.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The elevator was being renovated so I had to climb several flights of stairs to get to my sixth floor room. There were several American or European men staying here and just about all of them brought Filipina women into the hotel. They looked like escorts. Having to wait for your room to be prepared at checkin was a little annoying. They had transportation available but a car and driver can be expensive. There was Wi-fi access and they also had two computers in the business center. When they get the elevator finished it will be a lot better. You can walk to many places such as the U.S. Embassy and a large shopping mall.

The hotel is ok, but nothing special. The location of the hotel is very good, the rooms are clean, the stuff is helpful. But don't expect too much for the price. The buffet breakfast is terrible. The food was not fresh when we stayed there and there wasn't a lot to choose from. If you're staying there for a day or two it is ok, but for the price you can get a nicer place in Manila.
