On our way to Boracay my family and I had a stop over in Manila. We stayed for one night in this excellent hotel. The hotel is a bit old, but it is very nice and clean. It has a small pool that our kids enjoyed and a good restaurant. We would pick the hotel again should we come back to Manila again. The Employees were friendly and helpful.

It is a strategic place to visit the nearby must see places in Manila (Intramuros, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Etc.).
The people there are nice. Just don't expect much of good food from their restaurant, you may opt to skip breakfast and look for fast foods across the hotel.
The single or twin-sharing room has the same rate so if you are alone traveling it is spacious enough. The room size is ok and just enough for couples.

It's actually bigger and better, that I'd have expected. Nice lobby and taxi drivers can usually find it without any problems. Location is ok. Though we were heavily using taxis, as walking could take hours and I guess it's only some parts of Makati (business) district, which are safe of beggars and street-people.

Built-in a/c is old-school and needs to be replaced with some newer version. The internet is working only in the lobby, as per the staff, though, it didn't work for my iPad anyway.

To say the truth, I wasn't expecting much, but this hotel actually proved wrong. Although taxi driver said that was not very nice area to live in, I personally found the location quite good. It is in the district of Malate, very close to Roxas blv. Withing 3 mins walk there are tow 7 Elevens, and small shopping center (Pablo Ocampo st). Former Sheraton (now century hotel) is right across so its easy for taxis to navigate. Room was quite small; fridge and TV inside. I must say that surprisingly I was very satisfied with room service, they do charge additional 20 php for in room delivery though. On the bad side, wi fi doesn't work inside the room (lobby only) but we couldn't manage to connect though Ipad. In house internet /computer use costs 150 php per hour- even if you use 20 mins only hourly rate is charged. The also do not have good bar - few bar chairs are placed behind lobby. Cocktails were awful and welcome drink appeared to be juice or ice tea. Generally, I was quite satisfied and price-service ratio is very good.
