“a wonderful time”

Just back from my first trip to the Philippines and for the first time i feel inspired to write a review.
What a wonderful, crazy place Manila is, and my stay at this hotel made it all the more enjoyable.
Firstly the down side, our first night was spent at the front of the hotel, and the constant noise of the jeepnies made it impossible to sleep, but the obliging staff allowed us to transfer to a suite at the rear of the hotel next day, and though slightly smaller it was more than adequate and much quieter.
Breakfast was fine, maybe catering to the filipino taste, but as British i found it ok with plenty of choice. Similarly evening meals were nicely presented and very tasty indeed although expensive compared to eating out (but that is typical for hotel dining).
Clean through out with daily room cleaning i could ask for no more. In all a very nice and comfortable hotel with friendly staff, special mention to Dante on housekeeping, James in the cafe Miranda and Alvin at the bar, thank you boys !

“Nice, but noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Booked this hotel because it advertised 20 min. from the airport - I guess that means when there is no traffic, which doesn't ever happen in Manila. It is in a very loud, busy area. I asked for a quiet, nonsmoking room. When we checked in, they didn't have a room set aside for us. They did upgrade us to give us a nonsmoking room, but the room was so noisy from the traffic that we thought the window must be open. It wasn't and it was hard to sleep with the racket from the street. It took an hour in awful traffic to reach the hotel, but since we needed to get to the airport at 6 a.m. the next morning, it only took 40 min. with the early morning traffic. Thankfully we only had booked the one night!!

Room Tip: Can say since they don't seem to honor requests.

“it was good but they can still improve...”

I was booked in the penthouse way ahead of time. I specifically informed them that i like the one in the picture (there are pictures of every room in the monitor in the front desk). When we arrived i know that is not the one that i have chosen. After a day of inconvenience, i asked that i should be transferred to the other penthouse across the hall..(its the one in the pix). After so much bargaining and complaining, my request was granted. Thanks to the sales manager and the front office staff. Otherwise, my vacation will be ruined. I just hope next time, they will give the room that is requested because they are paying what you asked of them. Be truthful. But anyway, our stay was good. The room boy assigned in our room was excellent. He will help you in any way he can. The penthouse is good if you will hold small parties or meetings. Please add some more kitchen utensils and dinnerwares. Good location. Walking distance to shopping malls, groceries, restaurants, church and the famous Manila bay. But be careful to walk at night. Good breakfast but can still add a variety of fruits.

“a good clean place to stay”

after coming back from a luxury resort in palawan, my friend and i needed a place to stay for just one night in manila. this is a good clean hotel in ermita. if you were looking to do sightseeing in manila, or perhaps shopping, i might go elsewhere.

our taxi driver had no problem finding it. after our dreadful experience at the manila airport hotel our first night, we literally breathed a sigh of relief when we got here. the rooms are clean and spacious (but very poorly lit with a sliver of a window that looks out onto another window), good air con, decent but not great breakfast.

the staff were nice and had a good recommendation for filipino food in the area.

we were only there for about 12 hrs and did not wander more than 2 blocks away to have dinner. there are lots of homeless people in this area, very thought provoking.

the new rooms are much to small,i payed 2900p.The older rooms are a bit bigger. In the raining seison, we could not enter the hotel, the water was more than 1meter high in the streets. There is no compensation whatsoever,it was a poor experience for us and the other guests. Its i think its to expensive, for a 3world place ,a 3world street and city.Dirty everywhere you come.

Room Tip: take the older part of the hotel, its much bigger
