I really liked this hotel and would have liked it more if the neighborhood wasn't so bad. The hotel is run by hotel and restaurant management students at La Salle University so I figured the enthusiasm might be good. The staff is very kind and polite. The rooms were clean and the hallways were well decorated.

Of course, the hotel isn't perfect and the rooftop restaurant wasn't opened and I think neither was the pool. The hair dryer didn't work, either, and it seemed few guests were staying there. The problem is the surrounding neighborhood -- it's a slum with bad traffic and seediness -- and this factor will probably prevent me from staying here again.

After reading previous reviews, I was quite worried about the negative feedback. We found all of the staff to be very friendly and professional and very neatly presented, not like what was mentioned in previous reviews. Hotel has nice relaxing pool area on roof, and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and nicely maintained. Nice comfortable beds and bedding. Reasonably priced and located within taxi ride to Manila bayside, SM and Robinsons malls.

I highly recommend this hotel. Not only are the rooms big, they are clean; unbelievably, not a single bug! Linens are crisp & clean, towels were the fluffy kind & super absorbent .. Egyptian cotton maybe? The staff were all courteous & place is so secured. We will definitely go back to CSB Hotel. I have already announced this wonderful experience to everyone in my family, both locally & abroad. The food (the room rate that was charged to us includes free breakfast) was so-so but no big deal. You can always have a nibble or two w/ a cup of coffee then off you go. What a wonderful experience staying at CSB, price is great so is the place!

It is mediocre at its best! Reasons -

1. Staff members do not speak English.
2. Staff members look like thugs and are not helpful.
3. Requested to speak with the manager regarding a few problems. Ms. Mendoza came promptly but she was rude, was not dressed professional. Can not understand her with her thick accent. She did not address my concerns.
4. Room was mediocre. Floor had hair and soap scums in the shower room.
5. The worse part.... there were insects in the room. :(

I do not recommend the place. Sad, sad, sad.
