While planning a three week whistle-stop tour of Brazil we wanted to include a few days where we could properly relax at the end of our holiday. We had initially considered Ilha Grande to the West of Rio but we couldn't get the dates we wanted and looked East to discover Buzios. Trip Advisor led us to the Cachoeira (Waterfall) Inn. The Cachoeira could not have been a more perfect place to unwind. The owners (Susan & Matt) are seasoned travellers and know how to lay on a fantastic stay. Whilst the Inn is stunning and in a beautiful location it is the little extras laid on by Susan & Matt that make this place so special. Expect a level of service more akin to high class hotel, there is a mini bar and coffee in your room, a main bar on the public level and they have a light snack menu should you not wish to go out for lunch. Their Caipirinhas were amongst the finest we tasted and they demonstrated a perfect balance of leaving you to privacy but also checking in to see if you needed anything. Susan keeps up to date on the local trips and events and is on hand to help each guest get the best from their stay.
