no adaptors available for foreigners to be able to work, room service take very long if it arrives at all. Quality of food can be improved! Reception staff are no well informed about general information in Rio, they have not shown any initiative or interest to support customers.

I was in the tower 2, the room can become very loud when people in the event area are talking loud and listening to music until late evening! I would suggest the hotel to make sure the event area, especially the outdoor area is not used after 10 PM.

As other reviewers have said, this hotel is in a great location in the middle of Botafogo. It isn't the most touristic place, but gives you a sense of real, middle-class life in Rio, with passers-by, buses, noise and a friendly selection of neighborhood stores, banks, baker shops etc. It is also close to most important touristic places in Rio and the Santos-Dumont airport. Rooms are big, clean and have all the needed facilities. But don't rely on room service if you are hungry: I've been there for a really short stay and order room service twice. In both occasions the waiting time they told me was extremely underestimated and put me to think if this was not a strategy to make me consume those expensive in-room munchies. Other than that, fair price for what it offers.

Have that image of friendly, smiling people willing to help, well scrap that out of your mind. Brazil is dangerous, expensive, pricey and the service is awful. If you are willing to go on an lifetime adventure it's the place for you (so is jail...) This hotel is at at a good location if you are going for WORK, and that work of your is in Botafogo, apart from that it is at an awful neighbourhood, like most of Rio's. The prices are high and get hiked if near any event, like a convention in town, summertime or if they sense you are a foreigner.
