I should have sensed something was wrong when I was told by the hotel reception that their website is down and that I have to contact the head office in KL to make a booking. Identified the premise only because from the picture of the apartments taken from the roadside. There were no clear signboards telling you that you it's 'Duta Hacienda/Riviera/Villa Resort'. A gateway arch spanned the guardhouse but have the words 'Palm Springs' written instead. Facilities are horrible. Water in the swimming pool is a murky green with organic material floating over and fully clothed people frolicking around inside. Tennis court is run down with referee chair rusted while the driving range was closed (if ever open) on the day I came. No roof or proper tee off point provided. BBQ pit was little more than a cut open drum, your RM150.00 buying you a further 2 bags of charcoal and 5 miserly pieces of fire starters. A caravan park was located nearby which resembled more like a junkyard than an accomodation option. 'Lalang' was growing all over. The 'penthouse' I rented was very spacious but probably because it was so sparse of furniture. Didn't dare use the yellowed plastic electric boiler or the microwave while some bulbs are burnt. Air conditioning units lacked their controllers and the balcony is caked with pigeon poo. No telephones provided and TV is an old boxy set with antenna precariously hung over the railing of the balcony. There are better options around. Make this place a MISS! :p
