Stayed in Deluxe Water Chalet for 3d2n
Check-in/out: Speedy no hassle, bell boy was helpful.
Rooms: Spacious room with nice comfy king size bed although the pillows/bolster on the day bed smells. No dvd/vcd player is provided. In-room safe is available, but funny policy: “Need to get houseman to activate its use.” It doesn’t makes any sense at all. Chocked toilet & weak flush, they fixed it but it doesn’t work out well. Powerful aircon and water heater, we are never short of hot steamy baths. The bathtub is a plus! Enclosed balcony faces the chalets @ Grand lexis so does not have much view of the sea. But we freaked out when we encountered rats in the room. Saw a bulletin that they will be doing some pest control during our stay, so we deemed it is being managed. Fridge in room has a notice: “The fridge is emptied for your convenience.” But never is it convenient for us when we wanted a quick nice cold drink which is unavailable. We found good wifi available in room, restaurants & lobby. Bring your ipad/phones along, much better than boardgames.
Surroundings: Laid back town with nothing within close proximity to see or buy. No convenient stores in sight. So prepare your necessity way before.
Beach: Dirty, oil spilled beach with greenish seawater. Forget about prawning or crabbing.
Restaurants: Good, tasty breakfast with wide range of varieties provided. We had different breakfast changed daily. There are only 3 food outlets in both resorts. There is an empty Japanese restaurant next door at Grand Lexis with highly priced menu which doesn’t worth trying. Found a little cockroach on my menu. We tried all the rest of the remaining restaurants, Coffee house & their International restaurant. Well presented food tasted good with acceptable prices. But there were houseflies are everywhere, in room & all restaurants we have been.
Games room: Doesn’t worth. All aged machines either have faulty coin slots, unable to play, in silent mode or can’t function at all. We have to keep walking to and fro the reception to get technicians over to retrieve our coins.
Pools: Small, very strong chlorine-smell swimming pool that doesn’t worth swimming in. We got turned off with the sight of filthy yellowish water in a public Jacuzzi, which we thought of dipping in.
There is a taxi service at the lobby. We spent RM40 for a 2-way chartered car to Port Dickson(PD) town for some shopping. Driver Kumar was helpful to show us around PD town. Nothing much as PD is laid back town. We went thru 3 small shopping malls, did some snacks/drinks shopping @ the local supermarket & ate delicious, cheap local food @ the Muslim restaurant opposite PD walk.
