“Delicious food + great view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This is great place to have your lunch. During our 3 days of stay in Pangkor, we always had lunch in this cafe. Sam (the owner) is very friendly and tries his best to ensure you are satisfied. The prices are a bit high, compared to other local restaurants, but certainly worth it.

Make sure you try seafood fried rice. It is super delicious!

The restaurant has a very nice view of the beach and you can enjoy various water sports in the vicinity of the cafe.

The only drawback for this cafe is unpredictability of the time it takes for your order to get ready. It might take as short as 15 to even as long as 40 minutes! But anyway, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the mean time, while waiting for your delicious food to be prepatred.

“The best food and service in Pulau Pangkor”

Firstly, the review below is entirely unfair and counter to our experience of the place. The staff are genuinely very happy to go the extra mile to make your visit all it can be. The food was superb (highly recommend the marmite chicken) and the location on the beach is sublime. At the end of our meal the owner drove us to our hostel because it had started to rain. This wasn't conceited, just the sign of someone who cares about his business. A must visit in Pulau Pangkor.

“Overrated”

We visited Nipah Bay for 10 days in November and having read the reviews on Tripadvisor about this restaurant we had high hopes. The food was nice but nothing special and the view is beautiful. We are travelling with our son who is almost 1 year. He needs special food and during our 3 months trip in SE Asia most restaurants have always cooked something for him which is nice. At One Island Café all he got was some dry fish which we had to pay 10 RM for. Sad! Also the owner was nice but it all seemed a bit "put on". It's nicer when staff are nice because they want to not because the feel they have to suck up. The service was just avarage. It was so much better next door at Daddy's Café where we ended up going every night.

well hiya people here is my latest review of the new island one cafe which is situated at coral bay, which is the next bay along from nipah bay, only 5 minutes walk,

well i went as promised to macho fairy that i would visit and tell you all about the food and cakes served.there

first visit there i fancied chicken nugget and chips !! ,,,i know it was bad of me with all the wonderfull food on offer but id had this meal before on a previous vist to the island one cafe in town and it was yummy so thougt id try it again to see if the standard of food had gone down with the move to the coral bay cafe ...and believe me it hadnt !! the chips wer lovely and hot and crispy and the nuggets wer so tasty, and i must say the portions wer so big !!

well i first met sam the owner of island one cafe in his cafe/shop in pangkor town, and found his food and especially his cakes amazing !! well low and behold sam opened an offshoot of his briliant cafe in coral bay ,

island one is now in the shack that was loung lizard i found it an amazing place to sit and chill have a nice cold drink ,as its right on the beach. and sam provides sun loungers where you can lie and sunbathe and the waiters will bring drinks and snacks to you whilst you chill, just pure heaven "

when i got to island one sam was there with one of his school friends and asked me to join them to eat, well it was heaven we had a lovely meal of nyonya chicken which was the most amazing i had had, even better than i had had in malacca!! then the high light of the meal was the lobster that we had it was caught fresh and was so tasty and moist and full of spices an flavour ,this was washed down with fresh orange juice, it was so peace full sitting there eating wonderfull food with such stunning views os the bay

the second time i went i ate fresh pizza that had been made by sams wife, it was one of the best pizzas i have eaten in a long time but the high lite of my visit has to be the cakes !! believe me you cannot tel the difference between these cakes and say ones bought from secret recipe or starbucks!! they are made by sams wife and are presented exactly the same as shop bought tones!!!! my favourite being chocolate and banana layer cake which was so soft and moist and the portion sizes are massive ,and so cheap to buy, i also bought 2 other coffee cakes for my friends in nipah bay guest house as a treat !!

it was lovely going to island one at sunset and watching the sun go down it was truly amazing and so peacefull must say the place is a credit to sam and his staff they made this visit a memorable one , and its well worth a visit you will not be dissapointed i wasnt !!

“Delicious food on a beautiful beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011 via mobile

The first morning on Pangkor we had breakfast in Pangkor Town at Island One's sister restaurant. We met the owner, Sam, who kindly told us of their main restaurant on Coral Beach. After a good breakfast in the town restaurant of Nasi Lemak, egg sandwich and decent coffee, we caught a taxi to Coral beach and spent the day in front of Island One Cafe, lounging on their lounges and eating delicious local meals and fresh fruit juices.

I'd recommend the Nongya fish dish and fresh pineapple juice.

Due to such a great time in front of and in this cafe, we extended our stay on Pangkor by another night and spent the second day how we had spent the first.

Great local food and vibe; friendly staff.
