One of the first things that you notice about this hotel - its a long way from anything and takes a considerate, good, and knowlegable driver to get you there. Its a long way from the airport. Once you get to the hotel you have great sense of relief. The reception staff are quickly on hand once you do arrive and try their upmost to get you into the hotel. We had two stays at the Mantra. Two nights at the start of our 3+ week trip and one night at end. Our first night was not good. I noticed upon enterig the shower that our feet appeared to be walking on grit. Once in the shower I noticed that our feet was covered in black grit like dust and washed off black. I then took a hand towel and wiped the ensuite floor. The towel came up black. We were too tired to complain so we waited until the morning. The next morning we complained and a promise to clean the room perfectly during the day was given. Upon arriving back after a big day out in New Delhi, I went straight to the room after been given assurances that the room was clean. I again wiped my hand over the floor. It came up dirty - again. I immediately went down and showed the management my hand and that room was not clean and they had better move us to a room that was clean. This they did. The room was upgraded and was clean. The second night was excellent. The second stay was perfect and we had no complaints whatsoever. The beds are comfortable and showers are good. The bathroom imenities are adequate. The TV reception is good, with plenty of channels. Wi-Fi is available and does work. The dining room is small but comfortable and has a decent set out. The dinner menu is very good and would suit anybody. Breakfast is adequate. Not plentyful in choice but does the job. The staff in the dining room are terrific. Friendly, caring and efficient. Apart from the dirty room, everything about the hotel is fine and we had in the end two good stays. Just make sure the room is clean and you will have a good stay. I can recommend this hotel.
