My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton for two nights 2/9-2/10 and 2/11-212/12. Our check-in both times was very smooth, and in both cases one of the staff - Dipika - showed us to our rooms and was extremely helpful and courteous. It was surprising to see how much nicer the Sheraton in New Delhi was compared with any Sheraton property I have seen in the U.S.
The hotel is located somewhat on the outskirts of New Delhi, and it took us about 30-40 minutes to get there from the airport. There is also a large mall located nearby.
Our first night, we checked in around 7 pm and wanted to use the spa, which was closing at 8. What a surprise it was when the spa informed us they would be able to accommodate us on such short notice! Ravi and Seema took great care of my wife and I.
I also used the fitness center once. The fitness center is fairly typical for a Sheraton with respect to the equipment. The service in the fitness center, and in the hotel in general, was excellent. They brought me a bottle of water and a towel as soon as I entered the fitness center.
The hotel room and bathroom was good. We stayed in rooms 419 the first night and 603 the second night. We did not have much of a view in either room. Also, our first room was a little close to the elevator and we often heard people talking as they walked by. The complementary bottles of water was nice.
Internet was free for the first half hour in the Business Center which I thought was great. I did not use the wifi in the hotel so I cannot comment on the price or speed of the wifi. My understanding is that they charge for wifi which is unfortunate, since I believe that wifi should be free in a hotel of this quality.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a great selection. Furthermore, they will make just about anything that you request. I also ate at the South Indian restaurant one night which was delicious. There is a Pan Asian restaurant which looked good, but we did not eat there.
Just for perspective, my wife and I had spent the majority of the trip at Taj and Oberoi properties, and you can't really compare the service of these hotels with the Sheraton. However we found the quality of the rooms and the service at the Sheraton quite good, especially for the price. Surprisingly, I found the drink prices at the hotel bar downstairs to be higher than what I encountered at the Taj and Oberoi!
Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed this property would definitely stay at this hotel if we return to New Delhi.
Room Tip: Definitely hit the spa/salon if you have time. Also the South Indian restaurant is well worth tryin...
