“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

I spent four nights at the Le Meridien [February 12-16] and it was a very fine stay. I was fortunate to receive an complimentary upgrade to a suite and it was a fantastic room that overlooked New Delhi. The room was extremely comfortable and exceptionally quiet. The bed was nice and firm with an array of pillows.

I hosted one dinner at Monsoons, the hotel's Indian fusion restaurant, and the food was quite spicy but good. I had two lunches at the One restaurant and the buffet was outstanding with gorgeous desserts.

The gym is adequate but the non-stop Indo pop music gets old very fast.

The SPG club on the 20th floor has a fine breakfast but minimal food for the rest of the day although coffee and tea is always available. It is a good place to work but occasionally gets noisy with the arrival of large groups of guests.

Overal, an perfect location for those visiting Indian Government offices in central New Delhi.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner suite upgrade.

“Great location, rooms and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

This is my second stay in there this year and I must say I am very impressed with this property

They recongize my SPG Platinum status, provide upgrades, extra goodies and generally go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

On my 2nd visit several people (including the bell boy) greeted me by name and remembered me from my previous visit 6 weeks earlier (very impressive given the size of the hotel).

The rooms, the lobby and the restuarants on the ground floor have been completely redone and look spectacular. The bar on the top floor and the adjoining chinese restuarant are old and tired but I was told they are being redone this summer (look forward to seeing them on my next visit)

The location is very central for many business meeting in New Delhi as well as shopping.

In general a great experience and one worthy of the Le Meridien name

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the south of the hotel - that way you get a view of the Presidential Palace, I...

“French high tech”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

This should have been a five star rating but the room was a bit too smart for my liking (an ordinary room, not a club room). It is partly computerised which means that you manage part of the lights from a panel. The staff explained it to us in due time. The first night we were woken at 0100 when the room suddenly sparkled into life and lit a number of lights all on its own accord. Otherwise the room looked smart enough and the bathroom was excellent. This place had the highest standard of all hotels on our round trip of Northern India, lots of free water and a paper delivered at the door handle.
As for the restaurants, they had a lot of excellent food, for the first time with European items, such as cold cuts and cheeses. Red wine can be expected to be served cold which is not to everyones liking. The interior decorating is a bit too eclectic with too many influences. In the lobby there is a giant green lingam.

“business trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

good location, nice restaurant with amazing terrace. Rooms have good rate price/quality, despite not so silent ( i was staying at 8th floor). Gym is equipped with up to date machines, but not complete as necessary. The Spa is very good with comfortable and clean rooms, good terabits and warm welcome. Try the facial treatment. The business center is too small and do not guarantee enough privacy .

“Excellent centrally located deluxe hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

We spent three nights at the Meridien recently and I must say that I was very impressed. It is an expensive hotel but all 5 star hotels in Delhi are. We were upgraded to a club room on a high floor and away from the lifts as requested. With the club room had access to a lounge where we got served a good continental breakfast. Complimentary drinks during happy hour as well which we only tried once and it was a good. The pool is being renovated but as it is outdoors it didn't matter as it was too cold for a swim. A separate men's/women's steam room was also excellent. You can walk to Janpath from the hotel but the access is not pedestrian friendly as you have to walk along the winding driveway. The hotel restaurant that we tried (Belvedere Chinese) was pretty good but the food was unexpectedly spicy for the items we ordered. It was meant to be a proper Chinese ut I reckon it is more like Indian Chineses which is a cuisine in it's own right. The staff were very helpful when required. I couldn't find anything wrong with the hotel whatsoever and we had a very pleasant 3-night stay.
