We stayed here two nights and then another night a few days later in February 2012. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room on the Taj Club floor. The first room had a view of the pool, which we thought was quieter, while the second visit was a view of the city (and the traffic) and the sound of traffic and horns could be heard (faintly). The rooms were modern and felt fairly new. Quite spacious too.
All staff were outstanding and very happy to help. The concierge arranged Indian SIM cards for us, which was fantastic. At breakfast, one of the staff spent 20 minutes finding us a map and showing us where he thought the best places were. Whoever we asked to help was prompt and pleasant.
We ate at one of the restaurants - the Orient Express. Great experience and really good international food. Pricey for India at $80 each, but for a special night and a break from Indian, it was good.
Drinks and snacks by the pool were such a nice break after the hustle and bustle of Delhi.
It was a wonderful hotel and felt great to get into after the noise and crowds of Delhi- a lovely respite. We would stay here again.
