“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2012

We stayed here two nights and then another night a few days later in February 2012. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room on the Taj Club floor. The first room had a view of the pool, which we thought was quieter, while the second visit was a view of the city (and the traffic) and the sound of traffic and horns could be heard (faintly). The rooms were modern and felt fairly new. Quite spacious too.
All staff were outstanding and very happy to help. The concierge arranged Indian SIM cards for us, which was fantastic. At breakfast, one of the staff spent 20 minutes finding us a map and showing us where he thought the best places were. Whoever we asked to help was prompt and pleasant.
We ate at one of the restaurants - the Orient Express. Great experience and really good international food. Pricey for India at $80 each, but for a special night and a break from Indian, it was good.
Drinks and snacks by the pool were such a nice break after the hustle and bustle of Delhi.
It was a wonderful hotel and felt great to get into after the noise and crowds of Delhi- a lovely respite. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to the Taj Club and a pool view room.

“Your average Taj.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

Does what it says on the tin- decent service, decent food etc. BUt needs a refurb. Fitness centre and weights room needs work, looking tired. Pool is nice though as is the restaraunt patio area. Its in a posh part of town, but I thought maybe being nearer Saket would have made more sense. Even the spa needs a bit of work- its on the ground floor in a rather dingy bit of the hotel. So overall- ok for a business trip (I was there for a wedding and business trip)- but nothing special. Perhaps the best part was the car and driver I hired from the hotel- driver very pleasant chap and helpful.

“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I returned to stay at the Taj after several years and the hotel is still great. I stayed for 5 nights and found the Taj service to be of high quality as always. The staff at the front desk, hosekeeping and room service are all very helpful. I did use the gym on all the days and the staff there were very welcoming and helpful. Used the business centre and they manager was very helpful, courteous and didnt event charge me. Had several meetings at the lounge with gallons of tea and again very helpful service. One highlight was a dinner at Blue ginger - the vietnamse themed restaurant. The food especially the Tofu was amazing and so was the service. The only downside is that all of these does not come cheap but then it is a Luxury hotel and you should expect it.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper floors and on the pool side.

“Orgasmic service and attention to detail !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

From the time you step out of the airport (if you have booked hotel transport) this is one amazing experience. Escorted to the car by a Taj employee, car waiting with water and candy on the back seat. Each move is well rehearsed and executed perfectly. Had a club room so wen t straight to the room where the check in was done while I had a fresh juice. Lots and lots of people all the time, it gets a bit overbearing after a while due to everybody just trying to do their best. The attention to detail in virtually all areas of the hotel service is simply an amazing experience, the area is quite but taxi suggested by the hotel will get you almost anywhere as fast as Delhi allows. Very good breakfast, really fresh stuff most of the time. The staff is really great. A very good spa and great bar in the hotel..I Loved the room, where other hotels may come close on cleanliness and fittings, again the attention to detail will astound at time – and staff are always prepared with a good response to queries. Fantastic experience, if you are in the customer service business, this is a place to see as a case study

Room Tip: Take the club room

“Very good hotel ... very responsive in their service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

As is natural now with most of the Taj properties, the Taj Palace in Delhi is really nice.... though located a bit in the corner ... but certainly more quieter than most others.

Their 4th and 5th floors have been recently renovated and many of their Club rooms look smaller in comparison to the newly done-up rooms on these two floors.

They gave me a really large room, a very nice view over the Ridge ... impeccable service, always alert and attentive and courteous. The breakfast at Kafe Fontana is great, try getting a seat next to the poolside.

The Blue Bar on the lobby level is also nice, lounge ambience ... seating on the poolside again.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the 4th and 5th floors since they have been recently done up and look and feel reall...
