I arrived on a quiet Sunday with property less than 1 week open. After usual entry past gates, guards and security staff (std protocol for India it seems) I am greeted by personal staff to wait on me, show me the room and make me welcomed. Reception was personal, elegant and efficient. The place was like my own. I was greeted by name often and with smiles at all points, at restaurant, housekeeping, and more.
The area is heavy on construction of new offices, etc. so it appears like any modern city in the world. Airport was pretty close by and Nariman Pt is 40 min in peak morning hours.
The room is exquisite in decor, bed comfort, lighting, tv and bath. Bath is glass enclosed walls, frosted for shower/ toilet, but quite a statement. Architectural details in construction design were impressive. The bench full of pillows was great; toiletries by L'Occidentale are the best. I did not use the large bathtub in center of bathroom, however.
The hotel doctor was quite pleasant which was my misfortune to appreciate, after getting sick for 24 hrs. Hotel sent up Gatorade and fetched my prescription meds, which were cheap cost. I got better and enjoyed a limited menu, not the enormous buffet, though. Food quality was outstanding in cafe, restaurant and room service, as they supported my special diet requests. If you get sick, no better place than a luxury hotel with Indian hospitality.
The newspaper from US cost was R.250 but the internet was free, a big deal, or is that due to being Accor member?
