The hotel is near the centre of Chennai which is fairly polluted, but the location is just off the main road and it has a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
The rooms and service are what one expects from the Taj group. But I have to say that the hotels policy of only initially offering hotel cars and not equally offering independent operators is very annoying and potentially discriminatory and a restraint on free trade. The Group should urgently reassess its approach to this. They charge three to four times more than an ordinary airconditional cab. Some would say this amounts to scandelous conduct as tourists have no idea that they could get the same service for a much lower price. This does the Taj no end of harm to its reputation. The management need to take note that visitors deserve better treatment, and thry need to bring in fairness so that independent taxis can compete on equal terms.

I had stayed 2 nights at the Clubhouse. Great service and friendly staff greets you with a welcome smile everywhere. Ideal for the traveller who want to explore Anna Salai and nearby shopping areas. There is a newly opened mall "Express Avenue" at a walkable distance from the hotel.

Being a refurbished property, its looks and feels pretty new. Lots of variety in the restaurant front and the morning buffet has a great choice including hot waffles

Mainly for business travellers, who prefer to stay in a Taj Hotel without spending too much.
Do not expect anyhow the same atmosphere of other well known Tajs.
The Indian restaurant is excellent, whilst the coffee shop should be avoided.
Service is acceptable , but at the coffee shop is desperately slow..

Excellent service, beautiful pool, tasty restaurant. Location a bit busy but then so is India. A real oasis of calm and luxury.
