Beautifull top floor pool and jacuzzi...great service...comfortable rooms...an excellent option in chennai!

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children below 7) stayed for a month at Somerset Greenways in a 2-bedroom executive apartment. The quality of the furnishings, appliances and service were all extremely good. The kitchen is very well laid-out and fully kitted with utensils and cutlery. Having access to a full-service restaurant on the ground floor was a nice plus for a serviced apartment - the breakfast spread was excellent & improved significantly during the month we were there (though it does take a while to get used to hearing Michael Jackson at breakfast, and not having orange juice as a standard drink). The swimming pool on the roof is excellent - the changing rooms were still not functional on that floor, making it a bit awkward to go down a floor to change, but I guess that should be fixed soon. The gym is top-notch, with really good equipment, individual TV screens and ipod/iphone docks - great place to work-out. The playing area around the property is a boon for those with young kids - the nicely maintained gardens and the play gym were well frequented by our kids. For those with a car, free parking in the basement helps to keep the car cool in the Indian summer.

Half-way through our stay, we made some improvement suggestions to the staff while we were there, and they took it up very seriously and acted on most of them immediately.

Traffic outside the building is chaotic for a few minutes every morning and afternoon (school next door), and times to be avoided when trying to leave the property.

One inconvenience we felt, was the lack of WiFi in the apartment - though wired internet is provided in all rooms. With laptops, ipads and multiple mobile devices at home, it was a pain to be stuck to a cable and a desk.

Overall, an extremely good stay, and much better equipped than any other serviced apartment in Chennai (and probably many serviced apartments of the same class/brand in other countries) - highly recommended for families with kids

We had the pleasure of staying at the Somerset Serviced Residence in Chennai for 3 weeks in January. It was fantastic.

We rented their Executive Studio apartment, and found the room and furnishings were contemporary and pleasing to live in. It had a kitchenette (fully stocked with dishes, cookware, cutlery, etc.), washer/dryer, nice bathroom with modern fixtures, excellent broadband internet, and wonderful personal touches (like the occasional adorable towel animal or fresh flowers).

The lobby is stunning, the staff courteous and professional. We greatly enjoyed the rooftop infinity pool (with a beautiful view of the Bay of Bengal) and the workout room (with a trainer on staff & new, high quality equipment).

The restaurant just off the lobby, called 'Burgundy', is separately owned, but the food is consistently interesting and excellent, the staff pleasant and professional, and they provide a seamless experience for the Somerset residents.

We found Somerset to be an elegant experience, and well worth the cost (which we found to be reasonable).

I stayed here for 3 days and the staff and the hotel are brilliant. It would be good if we could charge the food back to the room but thats nothing in the whole scheme of things ... great apart'otel and the rooftop infinity pool is awesome !!
