Now I've stayed here thrice in the recent past and my experience has been better every time. For the first two times the booking was done by my regional office and the third time was my pick.
The staff are courteous & assuring. Even the door men are trained to address the guests well.
The interiors are well-furnished. Rooms are pretty spacious - and there is always enough space in the room. The bathrooms look slightly old with some loose fixtures - but actually not a problem to be pick upon.
Breakfast is 80% south indian - Idly, pongal, vada etc. I think dosas are made on select days. Parathas are also standard. This hotel proudly promotes vegetarianism. So menu is devoid of non-veg delicacies. They go to the extent of deselling non-veg food. The table mat(paper) in the restaurant goes like this "Why Veg is better" - makes an interesting read too : )
Food is too good BTW.
The location is brilliant - closer to major hub locations. Even the beach(Marina) is nearby - quick tuktuk ride distance. I took a stroll on the beach road once late in the evening. There is a shopping mall - Citi centre at a km's distance. You may even walk down to pick stuff.
