Neat and clean rooms with a great view of the city from the higher floors makes for a delightful stay at The Residency. The rooms at the back look out over Chennai's famous SAREE shopping hub at T. Nagar, which is just a few minutes away. The Chinese Restaurant and the Coffee Shop were really good. Room service is prompt enough. The staff quite helpful, and the breakfast (if it is part of your room plan) is sumptuous and truly filling. The location of The Residency also makes it a convenient place to get local transport. The Wi-fi access works well. When I stayed there, there was parrot in the lobby that was reading the fortunes of guests. I did not want to know mine. But anyway, if it has not flown away by now, then you could try it out for fun!! All in all, one can book in to The Residency with a sense of confidence. A good place to stay!!

The Residency is a very clean hotel that provides great value for the money paid.
We spent two nights here. We were more than satisfied!
The location cannot be beat. Very central and right in the thick of T.Nagar!

Breakfast was included in our room price.(very nice as well).

The gym is decent; and there is a professional to help / guide you at the gym.
Elevators are somewhat slow. (there are only 6 floors or so).


I have eaten at the restaurants on several other occassions.

Important:
1. All guests need Government issued Photo ID. (No credit cards with photos).
2. Check-out is 24 hours time....which means, you have the room for 24 hours from the moment you check-in. This is very convenient if you are taking late night flights, etc.

We stayed 3 nights in July 2011. The room was spacious and well equipped for a business traveler. The room and toilet were modern and clean. The view out of the window is dull. WiFi internet access was reliable and fast. The hotel has an excellent gym on the top floor.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was huge and quite tasty. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Rooms are almost like 5 Star Hotel rooms, though due to ageing they are smelling, the pesticide smell is all around that was the only NEGATIVE THING i had.

Breakfast is really good, you will be lost in variety, food taste was also genuinely good.

Service is excellent, hotel staff is damm good, they will really care for you.

Gym at top floor was a eye opener, good instructor and small but enough equipment levels, totally neat and clean. Though BOSE MUSIC SYSTEM speakers were switched off when i went there in morning.

Rooms are designed in 5 Star room like manner, lot of small small things are there, separate working table, Wi-Fi Internet service is also very good, nicely designed cup boards, tea-coffee stand, very cosy environment. Bed was of Superlative comfort. Central AC also worked well, no noise.

Recommended if you can't afford their new Hotel Residency Towers, which is little more expensive.
