My first experience with hotel in Shanghai was bad and you. The second time however was a totally different experience. This Marriott is subtle luxury, fantastic service and amazing people. It is n hours drive to the office from here but I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Right from the general manager Mr. Malik, the breakfast hostess Paula to the door man Marc will make you feel very welcome.
The hotel is very luxurious and the rooms are no exception. I just love the bathrooms and if you are into details checkout the lights at the edge of wood paneling in the room or the sahara cream marble in the bathroom. I could go on and on but I would rather recommend you experience it yourself.
I have stayed here twice and as I said, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stayed at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Changfeng Park for business for several weeks over two different trips. This is an excellent hotel! The property is rather new, upscale decor, professional and friendly staff, with great amenities. The rooms had very comfortable beds, mini-bar, spacious desk and sitting areas. Bathroom was very spacious, large tub, separate shower with rainshower head, and a good hair dryer. Get a Park view for excellent views of Changfeng Park. As a Marriott rewards member I received free wifi and wired internet in the room. Large flat screen TV (no DVD player) and Ipod docking station alarm clock. Some rooms have automated curtain and drapes control.

Daily breakfast had a large selection of many kinds of foods. There is a good fitness area and pool. The Japanese restaurant on site is quite good, but pricy. Dont bother with the onsite Chinese restaurant, much better chinese food elsewhere. Concierge was always friendly and helped with all questions I had, it was my first time in Shanghai.

My only complaint is the location. The hotel itself is fantastic, but its a bit of a walk to the closest area with any restaurants or shops, about a 20min walk over a canal bridge. The closest Metro stop is also in that area. Its inconvenient in my opinion to walk that far for the Metro or find alternative places to eat. A new shopping mall just opened next door while I was there and hopefully it will make for other interesting eating and some shopping options near by. There is a big Tesco supermarket also next door for supplies.

One more note: sometimes it takes a long time to get a taxi even at the front taxi queue. Not sure again if its location or what, but be prepared to sometimes have to wait for a taxi.

location is on edge of shanghai. about 25 min to downtown by taxi but closer to freeways leading to other towns and factories i was going to so less traffic getting out of town

Chengfeng park across the street is a beautiful public park with lake etc etc

I'm not a Marriott guy, I'm pure Starwood, but I have to say this hotel was amazing! The Marriott Changfeng Park is brand new and it shows. The place sparkles! From the marble clad lobby dripping with crystal chandeliers, to the oversize lobby restaurant, no detail has been overlooked.

The rooms at the Marriott are very good size. Two beds, a desk, media center, two armchairs with side table and a luggage rack all fit comfortably in the space without feeling overwhelmed. The real feature of the room is the bathroom. An oversize tub, a waterfall shower and marble from floor to ceiling envelope you as you enter through the double doors. The tub even featured a large picture window overlooking the area. Of course, they've installed a retractable privacy screen should you prefer modesty.

We tried out Quan Spa in the hotel's lower level. What an experience! The treatment rooms are of generous size and feature a sitting area, a private bathroom and an elevated garden tub. The spa is well appointed with beautiful posts, dim lighting and meandering hallways.

The included breakfast was terrific as well. For Americans, skip the traditional eggs and bacon. Try the dumplings and noodles! Honestly, the dumplings at the Marriott were some of the best I had in Shanghai. Each morning there were at least four varieties.

In short, this is a great hotel. Although not in the city center, this hotel certainly makes up for the taxi ride with great amenities, wonderful service and terrific food. Enjoy!
